Attention Military Retirees – The Dental Program Is Changing

If you’re a military retiree like me, you’ve been using the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program through Delta Dental, but that’s going away at the end of this year.

Instead, we’ll be eligible to enroll in the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). In addition to dental insurance we can also get vision coverage which is a welcome addition for me as I started wearing glasses a few years ago.

New coverage will begin 1 January, 2019, but you will not be automatically enrolled in a FEDVIP plan for 2019. It is imperative you enroll during the Federal Benefits Open Season, which is November 12–December 10, 2018.

Visit www.tricare.benefeds.com for more information.

Bad timing on my part. I just paid out of pocket for laser eye surgery.

SSD, great note, thanks for putting newsflashes out there for the retirees (hoping to join your ranks in six more years!)
I would request you put a tickler on your calendar, and re-run this article on November 12 w/ a link to the website.
Keeping on top of earned benefits is a challenge at times, and vets need all the help they can get!

unfortunately Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) has very limited coverage, and few providers, dentists, etc are part of it, at least around my AO. Its next to worthless.
