The stock appears to be clever design that address many of the issues associated with operating a carbine in conjunction with various types protective head gear.

    Nicely done.

That ten inch height-over-bore, with the Eotech on a high riser mount, has my head spinning, though.

I couldn’t imagine firing from the prone position with that helmet, visor and EOTECH set-up.

Why are they firing while people are clearly down range? scary… but interesting stock concept

    • Pete says:

Different groups of people firing different courses of fire separated by sufficient distance to create whatever their range control deems to be a safe SDZ. On standard US Army 25M flat zero/qual ranges, for example, that distance is typically 10 target stands. Spacing by that or more allows two groups to walk up and down range independant of the fire control measures of each other.

      • Pete says:

Also, it’s worth mentioning that it’s the angle of the cone of fire for a calculated SDZ, not just lateral distance, so the 10 target stand thing I walk about above only applies to a bermed 25M flat range. Increase the distance downrange and you’d have to increase the lateral spacing as well.

In the video they look over at him like “what the..????” or more accurately, “qu’est-ce que le ???”

That’s a pretty ingenious design. Everything else Ibsaw was a bag of ducks though. French may be cultured, but they are not gun cultured that’s for sure.

As a french man who happen to know the guys who appear in that video I couldn’t agree more with what you just wrote.

What’s really funny, is that you mention an NSN, like it’s funny but fail to recognize that it’s a ‘99’ country code. Then you list a bunch of guns used by LE and paramilitary forces in NATO countries.

The Europeans are way ahead of us on crowd control equipment. Way ahead.
