Very nice looking and well made…but disappointing in use. The thumb screw requires that you use an allen wrench to sufficiently tighten it to the rail. It will shoot loose otherwise…no tooless removale of your red dot. Additionally the exoskeleton is attached to the base with screws passing through the base, the exoskeleton, and then into the bottom of the red dot sight itself. This means when you drop your weapon, an impact on the exoskeleton can easily strip the screws out of the bottom of the sight rendering it useless. Hardly the highest degree of protection.
I mean, it’s strike industries… what did you expect?
At this point why not just use an Aimpoint Micro which is actually sturdy and doesn’t need an ‘exoskeleton’`?
@jellydonut
Maybe some guys got the other optic as a birthday gift one time, or bought it on sale 2 years ago and now want to harden the defenses of their already existing piece of equipment.
Because I got a Burris fast fire for $200 and this is less than $50, so it’s about half the cost. Also for my uses I don’t need a combat ready optic but a little more protection would be nice.
“Just as good…” lol
