Designed for the competition market in mind, Walther’s Q5 Match is a steel frame pistol based on the PPQ design. It sports a 5″ barrel housed within a ported slide, the later of which comes with front and rear cocking serrations, competition iron sights (red fiber optic front/adjustable target rear), and an optics cut with mounting plates for the Trijicon RMR, Leupold Delta Point, and Docter Optics.
Additionally, the Q5 SF features include:
– 5.6 lb. trigger pull
– .4″ travel
– .1″ reset

Super high mounts for optics, no way to index iron sights in optics window. No thanks.
I believe their intended market for this is USPSA/IPSC. Unwitnessed tall optics mounts are extremely prevalent in USPSA/IPSC Open Divisions.
I believe this is intended for Production not Open.
Rog. Was just commenting on optics trends in USPA.
My favorite striker fired right out of the box.
Cool. But I’d rather they import the Tac4 RMSC. Looks like Walther USA is focusing on the competition market. They missed opportunities to really take the market with the PPS and the PPQ. Right now Sig is the only big manufacturer to offer an optics ready pistol with the optic. Walther sells the PPS M2 RMCS stateside. The Tac4 RMSC (or better a version w/o the threaded barrel) would make waves, but the Umarex execs don’t seem to want to surf.
I am hoping for a PPQ RMSw combo later in the year.
