Got to say that’s pretty cool. It’s rare to see astronaut wings, took me a second to recognize them. Think the uniform up close looks good.

    • Mike says:

He has astronaut wings above his Space Badge. And Combat Medical Badge above his astronaut wings.

  2. jas says:

Does that make him a space ranger?

  3. Neil says:

    What in the actual…

What does this guy qualify as? Space Pirate?

    Operational Detachment Astronaut?

    Space Doctor?

  4. Adam says:

Can this man get any more impressive?

  5. YankeeZulu says:

One of the thickest resumes in the Army…

…Still looks completely fucking stupid in that uniform.

  6. Daggertx says:

    Pretty Awesome.

  7. Yankee Blue says:

Too much bling for this look. Subdued – just one – Astronaut wings and keep it at that. Ruins the look CSM Daley is trying to evoke.

    • Joe says:

Exactly. Keep your badges and ribbons on the left side only. Limit badges to 2.
It looks cartoonish and evocative of a banana republic.

    • Adam says:

This is a sharp looking uniform, but all I see is all that bling. Granted most soldiers don’t have that much to display, but it’s a bit much.

  8. TKS says:

And, put a wire stiffener in that damn ridiculous cover. Look impressive not like a WW2 wannabe! Or, maybe earn the “crush” by wearing your combination cover on missions. Why not just wear a OD wool Bonie cover if you want your Class A cover to look like you sat on it during the flight to Moscow?

  9. Ton E says:

As impressive as this photo is that uniform is still a waste of money.

  10. R.D. says:

I still like my Green Class A’s
This guy has an impressive Resume but looks like “a Tool.” Why would a Astronut be Army? And why would they allow him in Russia to Advertise hes High Military? I wasnt allowed to wear class A’s just out and about in Europe. .

    • SSD says:

Apparently, you’ve forgotten Major Healy from “I Dream of Jeannie.”

    • Ton E says:

I expressed that a couple of times if this uniform is going to get moved to the place where the Green Class As used to be the Army shouldn’t have nixed them.

    • Jeff S says:

There’s more to astronauts than just aviators… It would appear he’s a rather accomplished/versatile medical doctor.

    • Ed says:

      R.D.,

Are you not aware that we have been sending our NASA astronauts into space onboard Russian rockets since all the space shuttle’s were decom’d? (2011) If I’m not mistaken they launch from Kazakhstan.

  11. SWB says:

Gentleman, some of you would nitpick a Bl#J%B. And I mean that in the kindest manner possible.

    • Anibal P says:

Wonder how many of the cry babies are actually in service or even served? Me I got out in 97, this does not affect me or what I did, so need to complain.
But as long as they get rid of the current horrible bus driver uniform, then I’m all for it

  12. Jmb says:

    The trolls make an appearance.

  13. Big_Juju says:

Are nametapes optional in this uniform?

    • Dave3187 says:

The reducing the number of items on the new green uniform. Name tags are thankfully going away.

  14. Jason b says:

I can’t believe some of your comments way to be patriotic….. I think an honors our grandparents and great-grandparents and their sacrifices. You all need being negative need to go live in the White House with Trump. I think they are awesome… I know there are more important things in the world to worry about but I think this is a nice change.

  15. Tim says:

That’s one way to flex on the Kremlin

  16. Jack Luz says:

The necktie ought to be the same color as the shirt, just like in World War Two.

Heck. Just bring back the dress greens and the dress green summer class-A already.

    • Dave3187 says:

They got rid of the greens for a reason. The Pinks and Greens and Khaki Class B’s are superior in every way compared to the old greens. The Greens were a compromise no one really wanted when they were designed in the 1950’s. Plus the Pinks and Greens look military and less corporate.

  17. Ryan M says:

Well it’s less bling than the typical Russian dress stuff…
That guy is a badass. I’m a doc and know what that alone takes. Where did he find the time for the rest if it?

  18. Dave3187 says:

Hopefully they make the dress blues look sharper too. Same cut as the new greens with a waist belt and bi-swing back.
