Super B, is Further Faster Designs’ modern answer to the venerable poncho liner.
They combine Climashield Apex insulation with 1.1 oz per square yard micro rip-stop DWR shell material and a built in toggle and draw cord system that allows the user to configure it as a sleeping bag or draped around the shoulders as a static layer for camp/patrol base activities.
Tgey offer two insulation weights, 2.5 and 3.6 oz per square yard so the user can make decisions based on the time of year and weather. The Super B is rectangular, enabling the draw cords, one located on a short end and another mid-way on one of the longer ends.

They tell me they have other products in varying stages of production with a new product launch planned for our Pop Up Preview booth at this year’s SHOT Show.
Always love woobies and their upgrades
Waiting on the Polartec woobie. Good luck competing with the pacesetters, it will be hard. Having 4 woobies with another as soon as Polartec wants money, here’s a inspirational goal line (beating it may be difficult) – Group1 is probably the best do all woobie for extreme cold and modular innovation. It’s become my bed blanket. Pimp woobie at a pimp price, no regrets. This will contradict some others opinions/experience but the OP Tactical/Wild Things bang bang brought baby woobie goodness. Quite traditional but warmer then you’d think, perfect sizing and chicks love wrapping in it neckid. No regrets. Third up is the Kifaru that everybody loves. Ummmm….its big and it’s warm. It also sucks to wrap up in and feels like I’m being mummified in a parachute. It’s warm enough to keep in my truck as a emergency woobie. It’s not my favorite or even a runner up. Last woobie is old issued one that has nostalgia and has been loved and retired.
Jon @ OPT, boobie sprinkles on the woobie collab.
@ Polartec, why don’t you like money?
@FFD, good luck.
I think the answer is the same as why long-filament insulation works better for the weight than polartec fleece. You can buy fleece super cheap, Wal Mart’s fabric section is the hookup for that.
One thing that fleece does well is hold moisture, which means it’s not working as well as long-strand filament garments do at insulating for a given weight, and when you’re working hard and generating sweat, then have to sit still, you’re more likely to be a sweaty wreck wearing fleece.
I have a Kifaru Woobie, and a Woobie Express. I want to like them more, trying to sleep with the Woobie, it ends up sliding off unless I tuck it just so, or, where it works best, is inside another bag to lower the temp rating. The Woobie Express works well for sitting still, I have other puffy jackets that get used more, a Beyond A3 jacket being the one that gets used the most, and with removable sleeves, it functions when I’m working hard in the cold.
I’ve seen a prototype of the Super B, seen how the DWR works, and especially the toggles. For sitting in a stand in a tree or on the ground behind a spotting scope, it will be my choice over anything fleece, or the wispy woobie that I struggle to keep in place.
Here’s a better explanation and more pictures, including showing it turned into a sleeping bag and using the bungee as well as the toggles.
