HOKA One One – TenNine Hike GTX

Based on HOKA’s TenNine Downhill Mountain Runner, the new TenNine Hike GTX combines this unique sole with a hiking upper.

The lengthened Vibram Megagrip sole is designed for heel to midfoot transition. It helps control inward roll, or overpronation, without overcorrecting your gait and offers a cushioned ride. Like the name says, it also incorporates a Gore-tex lining.

Pre-orders open 15 October at hokaoneone.com with deliveries starting 1 November.

    That is simply ridiculous!

  2. Glen says:

    Are they serious?

  3. Roy says:

iโ€™ve seen these shoes before: the special shoes George Costanza wore in the Seinfeld episode called โ€œthe Jimmy.โ€ They were supposed to help with vertical leap. The salesman, Jimmy, kept referring to himself in third person. Classic!

  4. Giovani says:

Gods forbid you work on running technique. Just add more sole.

  5. iggy says:

I wear their running shoes and really like them. These are pretty out there, but won’t discard them for pragmatism

Isse use, “Barefoot Running/Walking” Science proofed, that we are not suppose to walkt heel to toe! We are supposed to walk on our toes to the “palm”, and we are supposed to used the touching leg to really push us forward, which again eases up the process of automaticly using your toes without thinking too much. The fastest Marathon runners of the world list all use Barefoot Technique, because its also more energy efficient.

      • James says:

Those mechanics are why these are made the way they are. Everyone has felt that downhill slap from your heel striking and slamming your midfoot down regardless your form. Give that heel flex and that turns into more of a roll than a fixed lever , just a way to mitigate it and get your midfoot down with less plantar flexion and slap. Definitely crazy looking, but I can see the intent and appreciate it.

  6. Hubb says:

These were not made for moon walking…

  7. AbnMedOps says:

Well, that’s thinking outside the shoebox…

  8. Chris from Cali says:

My first thought was “Tactical Yeezy’s” haha. And then I realized this was a serious product…

  9. Chris from Cali says:

My first thought was “lol, Tactical Yeezy’s.” Then I realized they are a serious product…

  10. Jacob says:

Hoka supports BLM so no thanks.

    • Lasse says:

What can you buy that haven’t already donated to BLM at this point?

And you’d totally 100% buy and wear these if it wasn’t for their BLM stance?

      • Ed says:

Only the cucked Corp. and businesses that think if they virtue signal ,they will satiate the angry racist-leftist mob, BLM/ burn-loot-murder, pathetic,

        Great design though, Lol ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Daniel says:

I just don’t see how you could safely navigate a steep downhill portion of a trail in these things. You have no way to dig your heels into the terrain in a safe way on the downhill.
