SIG SAUER - Never Settle

That Time an American General Said “Nuts” to the Nazis

December 22 1944 – Encircled by German forces at the Battle of the Bulge, the 101st Airborne Division, under acting commander Brigadier General McAuliffe received a message from German General Heinrich Freiherr von Lüttwitz delivered under flag of truce.

To the U.S.A. Commander of the encircled town of Bastogne.

The fortune of war is changing. This time the U.S.A. forces in and near Bastogne have been encircled by strong German armored units. More German armored units have crossed the river Our near Ortheuville, have taken Marche and reached St. Hubert by passing through Hompre-Sibret-Tillet. Libramont is in German hands.

There is only one possibility to save the encircled U.S.A. troops from total annihilation: that is the honorable surrender of the encircled town. In order to think it over a term of two hours will be granted beginning with the presentation of this note.

If this proposal should be rejected one German Artillery Corps and six heavy A. A. Battalions are ready to annihilate the U.S.A. troops in and near Bastogne. The order for firing will be given immediately after this two hours term.

All the serious civilian losses caused by this artillery fire would not correspond with the well-known American humanity.

His response was perfect.

To the German Commander.
NUTS!
The American Commander

We need generals like this again, not the current batch of emasculated cucks.

Big talk from internet warrior. You must have a hell of a qualified background to be able to criticize military leadership so.

So tell us, why should anyone listen to you?

      • Ed says:

Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is and back up any of the current emasculates flag O‘s that continue to push PC garbage and have severely restricted our movement due this BS “pandemic”, err I mean Scam-demic??! So what’s your “qualified” background that trumps Papa6 opinion, which he is way more than in his right to have? Inquiring minds would love to hear your BS reply! 🙂

G – I am an internet warrior now. I left AD in 2003 as a senior NCO. Spent most of my time directly supporting combat arms. Couldn’t stand the way the Obama administration had started to turn the military into their personal PC experiment. Like a lot of the other “mid-management”, in the military back then, we saw the writing on the wall. Now I have seem some of my worst fears come to fruition. It looks like it’s only going to get worse.

I used to recommend the military to all the young people I met. Now I don’t. Enough said.

Wishing everyone here a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year!

Miller, Mattis, McCrystal and those are just the dudes whose names start with M. Any American service member is happy to fight for these men.

Take care and watch your back before you throw your undying loyalty on the altar of flag officers.
Officers that reach the ethereal ranks have become, by necessity, movers and players within the bureaucracy. Not all, but many, have gone so long without being told they are naked that they lose perspective on some aspects of life. just like any other celebrity, they live in a world where they are seldom told the absolute truth and lots of stuff “just happen” for them. This breeds a distorted sense of reality and with it a “me and thee” mentality.
Some are able to keep themselves based in reality and can be the “good guy” they may have been as a young captain.
But those who have allowed the suction at the seat of their pants to cloud their perceptions, can parlay their names and reputations into notoriety and money; Often at the expense of the oath they once took and (hopefully) held sacred.
A particularly good example would be Mr McCrystal himself. Apparently, us commoners are unfit to own anything more lethal than a pitchfork or maybe a musket.
        See here:

        and here:

Those are just two examples of what a very cursory search turned up after I read this SSD piece.
ANY member, current or former, of the uniformed services that has sworn to “Support and Defend” the Constitution and then throws in with the likes of Kelly and Gifford is, in short, a traitor.
Conduct your own due diligence. There are many more. They have former tier one pipe hitters doing PSD work for them but YOU are not worthy of owning or bearing a modern, ubiquitous, weapon that is capable of adequately meeting the types of threats that the modern world has crawling around.
I own McCrystal’s book. I was excited to buy it. And then I started seeing shit like what’s in that OP-ED.
This is emphatically not a rant aimed at anyone on here. It’s frustration and anger at the betrayal of core values by SOME of those who led us, and then abandoned the ideals our friends died defending.
For “leaders” at that level, there should be ZERO tolerance for duality of standards regarding basic human liberties.
        There can be NO me-and-thee.

Spot on Brother! I’m sure your detailed comment is going to ruffle the panty liners of some of the cucked turds that drop in here!

          Come and take it! 🙂

      • Ed says:

Yeah, I rest my case and I know I’m not the only one. Fuck three tools!

    • Geoff says:

Well isn’t this thread the epitome of holiday spirit…..

      • Ed says:

        Geoff,
I see where you’re coming from and slightly agree. Unfortunately we don’t have leaders like this anymore and the comparison to WWII generals and our bunch of over political flag-O’s since the Vietnam War have been pathetic to say the least. Yes, I recognize that there are good O7 and above in the ranks, however the mine field of PC, political posturing and never making the wrong decision hampers true innovative leadership and warfighter improvement.

My dad served in Europe during WWII and was sent in, in Jan of 45’ as a replacement. I grew up reading and watching WWII pictures. I never really heard him speak much about it besides being cold and hungry most the time. They were definitely fighting for something greater then themselves over there and world wide.

The sad thing is today, the enemy is no longer black and white like WWII or before. Yes there are global enemies like China, Iran, NK and Russia but also less defined enemies like ISIS/IL and AQ.

The real enemy is our own self-apathy here in the USA and how millions of citizens just roll over and “listen” to self appointed idiots of so-called educated caliber of science and health. That is the Trojan horse to restricting our Constitutional freedoms that could lead to the complete erosion of them, their removal!

That is the comparison plain and simple. If those same WWII leaders and the men who defeated Hitler and Mussolini were here in number and youth they would look at us and say “NUTS”!

A buddy of mine that I went through training with and served in the Teams once said, “those men that fought back against and defeated the British would look at us as dress makers by their standards!”

Here here Roger. The incoming administration epitomizes the animal farm, some are more equal than others. Exhibit 1, a certain laptop owned by a certain fortunate son. Anyone not in the bubble would already be serving 15 to 20….
