Finally a good blade steel. This was one of my favorite knives when I was fairly new in the army. I sharpened it so much the blade was noticeably shorter. I don’t need one but might get one for nostalgia.
Love CRKT, started with just the M16-13 with serrated blade at the back & front 2/3rds was a chisel grind, not too bad but I learned to live with it ! Then they came out with the M16-01Z & the M16-03Z and I got them. The 01 was more of a urban edc for me & the 03 was when I felt like it. One thing about both of them…………..I HATED the unlocking system CRKT put on them !!! It was a pain in my arse, but I learned to do it one handed…FINALLY !! I see this new one doesn’t have it on it….Thank Goodness CRKT cane to their senses ;-))
I had no problems keeping the older ones sharp, as long as you don’t abuse the edge, ceramic rods get the edge back after a few passes, the new metal will make it even easier ;-)) I’ll be looking to see where I can get one on order at a fair price !
