Which compass is this designed for, by the look of it I’m assuming M73, is that right?

    • FormerDirtDart says:

Looks like it will fit a M1950 quite nicely

      • Bongo Gear says:

We designed the pouch to hold a GI type compass (Cammenga 3 or 27, M73, M1950, etc.) along with an emergency whistle, small signal mirror, and a Bic type lighter – all together. (A whistle was what saved a shot downed pilot during one of our CSARs back in the day, and a signal mirror was instrumental in locating a couple of downed aircrew in other instances. A Bic, well, it’s just plain handy to have.)

Pity you don’t ship to Australia. I like the look and quality of your products .

That’s the first new thing I’ve seen in forever that uses “Lift-The-Dot” fasteners. I wonder if they still make ’em, or if these guys found a bunch of NOS in a warehouse?

    • Bongo Gear says:

Dot still makes the Lift The Dot snaps. They’ve never stopped. Companies tend not to use them because they require special tools to install, cost more, and are more labor-intensive than Pull The Dot/regular snaps.

So aside from the obvious – the fact that this pouch is several dozen steps up from the issue GI version – how about you get on to the Becker Patrol Pack MkII and post a review of THAT, pretty sure it would make an even bigger splash that this… (nice as it is)…
