The MUD Variant 1 is a handheld comms unit available in standard and GPS capable variants. The standard model can be upgraded at a later date. It is intended to be used in conjunction with TAK loaded on an End User Device.

• Send COT to mark targets and buildings alike.
• Encrypted with AES-256-bit Bit Encryption
• Each unit is equipped with a USB-C connection port on the top that is used to connect to your EUD without the need for a Bluetooth connection.
These photos are of the pre-production GPS models so the production variants will have different case materials.
Each unit is made to order so no refunds. The current timeline to complete assembly and ship is 16 weeks. As always, this will be a supply constraint that we will work on from batch to batch to improve. Some parts are custom made and take time to manufacture.

Does it use it’s own plug in? Seems to have a little more functionality than meshtastic, if it’s allowing text through TAK and waypoint/ target drops, while still staying in the LORA framework.
TAK plugins are available for meshtastic via LORA which cover both text and waypoint/target drops.
We’ve all seen S2 Underground’s stuff.
I see that it’s using the meshtastic plug-in on the v3 page. Guys if you haven’t looked at the v3 repeater on their site ,go do it! It’s a good deal to get that in a ready to roll package thats backwards compatible. It’s a lot of work and parts sourcing to get a hardened one up and running.
$500 is up there in price, considering you can make your own LoRa device to mesh with (pun intended) TAK.
Although, I will say, the GPS feature is a cool addition, but since most phones come with GPS by default.
Kind of a difficult deal, even for the technically uninitiated who just want to get up, grab some kit and get started. That’s a steep investment.
I’ll probably still buy one to try out though.
