Barry Dueck has done it again, introducing a new Sight Base for Red Dots with integrated backup sights. It’s a very straight forward design, made from bar stock and nitride coated. A major advantage is that it is tall enough to clear most suppressors and there are no modifications required to your slide. It mounts in the factory rear sight dovetail.
“I designed the RBU as a simple no gunsmithing sight base to eliminate lost dots when aiming. Just align the fixed iron sights and your red dot is visible. It’s simple and it works.”

If we remove the front sight post from this, will it co-witness with suppressor-height front sights?
? Mounting plate sits significantly higher than typical MRDS Glock cutout height.
The Delta Point Pro from Leupold has an integrated rear sight.
This is assuming the Delta PRO ever comes out.
Also, I’m pretty sure the integrated rear-sight is removable (it wouldn’t have a use on an AR). The version I saw on Lamb’s gun had a removable rear sight anyway.
I thought they were staring to show up. Yes, it can be removed.
How will that hold up to recoil just by utilizing the dovetail?
I’ll give that a try in USPSA carry optics. Seems like a good cheap way to experiment with the MRDS.
My only concern is how sturdy it will be over the long haul. Guess I’ll find out
I think Barry did his homework. I’d be more worried about the MRDs than the mount.
Game changer.
Any plans on m&p?
Any plans for a rear-sight-only model that would co witness with a suppressor-height front sight?
This would be so cool if they made one for the P30 since it’s a challenge to mill it’s slide for these type of optics.
