Draggin Bags – All Webbing Duffel Bags On Kickstarter

IMG_9581

Draggin Bags are, according to the project creators, the first duffel bags made completely out of webbing, with no fabric used in the construction of the bags. The bags are constructed of US MilSpec webbing, thread, and zippers, and are sewn in the United States. The seams and zippers are hot-cut, back-tacked, bar-tacked, and double-stitched for strength and durability, and the bags utilize over-sized nickel-plated YKK zipper pulls. Upon completion of the project, two models of bags will be made available: the 14″ x 8″ x 24″ Grendel, and the 8″ x 13″ x 17″ Gravity.

Wouldn’t want to carry one of those when it’s wet.

What is the reason for making it out of webbing? What advantage does that give?

…will suck when wet and all those stitch lines add so many opertunities for failure! I shouldnt bicker, though… they are making money off hipsters while i seem to loose money buying crap off hipsters.

    How much does it weigh?

    • Draggin Bags says:

Hello Desert Lizard! The larger Grendel bag weighs about 2.5lbs – a bit heavy for most duffels, but the webbing is ~4x thicker than 500d Cordura, hence the added weight. Draggin Bags – Adventure On!

On the subject of all webbing bags, All the old British ‘Mills’ based web equipment’s pouches, bags/haversacks, etc. was constructed of heavy cotton webbing. The looms were set to weave the web to whatever width dimension was required.

The stuff has terrible water repellency and was heavy, but is ome of the most durable material going.
