You’re welcome. I’m sure they made this poster because of me. I almost lost a Geissele trigger in 2014 coming home from SHOT.

Apparently a “triggering device” is prohibited in carry on bags. And a Geissele trigger fits that description.

I was worried about the American Snipers coin (mini axe head), metal business cards, and a Glock magwell, all made it through.

  3. PAK says:

I forgot about a small pocket knife in my e&e kit, but they found it. Gone. Flying there, nobody said anything.

    • PPGMD says:

That might be because Las Vegas TSA knows there is a good chance that the SHOT show attendees flying out has those things so they are looking at the kits closely.

  4. Kevin says:

This reminds me of the last time the BF and I road tripped to Canada. He all but patted me down to make sure I was’t carrying.

  5. Bill says:

I had to think twice about “gun parts,” but I guess I won’t be assembling my next AR on the seatback snack table, padded by out-of date Skymall catalogs and barf bags.

I got called out by a TSA screener because my 5-point star shield could be “used as a throwing star,” even though each point had a little ball on the end, so we Deputies couldn’t hurt ourselves on something sharp.

Last year I had an agent of the Travelling Shoes Administration, AKA Thousands Standing Around ( (c) J. Canipe) ask if I attended SHOT. I confirmed that I had, and the agent proceeded to remind me that gun parts weren’t going to be allowed to be carried on, specifically for the reason you joked about. They were serious about somebody coming from SHOT and getting together with their pals to assemble a firearm to take over the aircraft.

  6. Robert says:

Interesting that knives are not listed.

  7. Seamus says:

Anyone else noticing a trend here?

  8. Jim says:

What kind of world do we live in, when I cant take a hand grenade on a civil flight!?
