Yep, it’s been done plenty of times, a sleeping bag with no zipper. But the Nozipp uses magnets to keep the bag closed in cold weather, yet allow you to get right out without snagged zippers.
Additionally, the Nozipp boasts a “Comfortable Temperature Range” of 15°F to 65°F because of the overlapping flaps design which allows the user to vent the bag in warmer weather yet snuggle up with double insulation over the torso. That versatility also allows for extra room inside the bag when needed, like to keep gear warm.

It seems like it would be handy, my concern would be potentially rolling or kicking in my sleep and opening it inadvertently.
Ok, whenever I see “kickstarter” I put my cynical hat on, but this looks pretty sweet. The variable temp looks very effective and I always struggle with sleeping bag zips when I’m groggy so I dig the magnets, my ONE complaint is that whenever the sleeping bag opening is cut that high you have to wriggle in and out, if they could have dropped it just a few more inches you might have been able to pull your knees out (SD backcounty bed has the same problem).
I’ll be rooting for them.

Sierra Designs and others have had this idea out for good few years… sans the magnets, but the bags don’t need them.
Very different execution, and the magnets are a pretty big difference. The double/single layer bag is pretty new too, I think Kelty is only just coming out with one.
backcountry bed is the only open front zipperless bag I know of, and for me they missed the mark. Calling a top quilt a zipperless bag is a bit of a stretch.
