SIG SAUER - Never Settle

First Spear Friday Focus – The Other Guy Softshell Jacket

This week, we’ll take a look at one of the first clothing items introduced by FirstSpear, the Other Guy Jacket.

The Other Guy Softshell is now available on the Non-Stocking Non-Standard section. It features two zipped chest pockets, a zippered poacher pocket at the rear with zippered openings on either side and zippered upper arm pockets with Velcro fields. This Coyote color is all that is available.

There is limited sizing and an even fewer number of FR versions of this jacket on the FirstSpear site for sale. These are the original production versions, and once they are gone, they are gone. However, FirstSpear has an updated version of the Other Guy in development right now, so it will return!

So I pull up their site, navigate to the aforementioned Non-stocking section, and BAM I’m now locked out of first-spear.com, only seeing an error page. “403; Access denied! You are not allowed to access that resource!” Can’t navigate anywhere. Even opened a separate browser, immediately goes to the same error, meaning it has blocked my IP address. Well that was amusing.

      Same here!

Doesn’t mean it blocked your IP, it means that page’s properties were made non readable…aka server error.

I’ve had the Blackhawk version of this one since 2008…been everywhere in it. I know, mine is made in some opium factory next to the So. China Sea. But, can’t beat it. TTPA gonna fix that.

Forgive my ignorance, but “poacher pockets?”

    • Dellis says:

Ya, it’s where ya toss stuff that ya have “poached”…ya know like a few birds, small critters or a leak proof double mocha latte

    • HT says:

Pockets located in the small of the back, usually length-wise across the back. Called poacher pockets because they are similar to pockets on game vest designed to hold your freshly killed small game. Handy for all sorts of things other than bloody small animals and birds.

It’s a good question and well answered.

I just put my shooting gloves in them and or snivel gear like beanies/neck gaiters..
