Gunfighter Moment – Larry Vickers

Larry Vickers released this video of his BCM carbine yesterday, and we thought it would be great to share as a Gunfighter Moment for those who haven’t seen it yet.

a great showing of equipment! Learned a few things with the 12oclock location of the light & using cover! KISS! And also with the fixed vs folding sights.

  2. Patrick says:

How is it I never noticed his tiny hands? Kidding.

    Another informative video.

  3. SoloDallas says:

    What a freaking cool video.
Needs to be said, Vickers has perfected the art of oratory; there’s not one second when you don’t find him effective while speaking.

I wish him the best of (continued) success. He’s definitely a plus in the gun world.

  4. Forrest says:

Sorry but Vickers has lost ALL of his credibility when he attacked the blogger who reported on FireClean. Instead of refuting the charge, Vickers attacked the man’s credibility instead.

If EOTech had been paying him instead of AimPoint, do you think for a moment that he wouldn’t have attacked those who complained of POI drift? There’s just as much evidence that FC is vegetable oil as there is that EOTechs were defective.

I don’t blame him for using his name to sell products. He’s entitled to earn a living. But to attack a man for telling the truth in full conflict with scientific proof of his claims is absurd.

He’s just another pitchman selling slap chops at this point. Integrity be damned.

    • Forrest – you obviously don’t know me very well. If you did you would know what your staying here is bullshit. Oh well – matters not to me

      • Joglee says:

Well you did have a video(no longer can be found on YT) of you saying Fireclean could visibly repell and eject carbon fouling by the amount of smoke produced from an extracting case.

    • Yawnz says:

Why would his past videos and sponsors matter as to the content of his shooting tips?

Would you call him a liar if he told you the Earth was round?

      • Matt says:

He would only say that about Larry behind the safety of his computer screen and key board that he is typing on in his underwear in his mom and dads basement. It trolls like Forrest who makes comments they can only make behind closed doors. He and others that suffer from verbal Diarrhea of the Internet forums are the “never been there, never will be crowd”. That’s why they compensate for it by trying to bad mouth other real deal guys. My favorite video Larry has made is “Why I’m Fat”. That shut up the masses for sure. My .02

    • SSD says:

You are precisely why people should have to use their real name and photo on the Internet.

    • Joe says:

      Run Forrest! Run!

    • Dev says:

I do find it rather amusing a blogger with no professional background on the issue whatsoever armed with flimsy evidence is judged on a different standard than a guy who has served his country, honourably, in one of the best special forces units in the world and is widely considered a subject matter expert.

    • Run, Forrest, run!!!

  5. Geoff says:

I like the video style GF moments. It can take the content to a whole different level than words and a few pictures.

  6. Hubb says:

I have also become a believer in mounting an X300 with a Unity Tactical cover in the 12 o’clock position; it is ambidextrous and it reduces the shadow from the barrel. I like LAV’s idea that the flashlight and red dot are in alignment.

    • SSD says:

I just wish the X400 were a tad bit lower

    • McNulty says:

I tried 12 o clock and thought it was distracting, but great point about light and red dot being in alignment. I’m going to move mine back and just get over the distraction, it definitely makes sense.

  7. Marcus says:

So just a few serious questions- what makes a compensator “tactical”? It would be great to hear Larry’s opinion in general about various muzzle devices, purpose and uses given the plethora of options.

On the red dot/iron site use- do you use them so they co-witness? I often found that a distraction, but that’s just me.

  8. Esteban says:

I just wanna know how they did that amazing gun hanging in the air brass flying special effects?
Also, Mr. Vickers might smell like cabbage (small hand joke) I am pretty sure he would out gun any of us on this thread.

Muzzle breaks make the gun shoot flatter with quicker follow up shots, They suck when stacked up and running a shield in front of a shooter. Just be aware and roll your long sleeves down. You will be fine.

Marcus, if you train enough you can get over the issue you describe. Just train more.

    Happy hunting!

  9. People may think all this is fairly self-evident, but they need to listen carefully to the detailed reasons he provides for every part of that gun and why he has chosen what he is running.
