Because they are not represented.
Not voting and not being represented are two different things. The gun owners voted but due to the imbalance of power in this state we were out voted so unless you lived in CA becareful on your assumptions of the political landscape.
There are more registered gun owners in CA than registered Democrats. Either they don’t vote or they choose to vote for those who fail to respect their rights.

These are 2013 numbers…it’s even worse now. Roughly 30% of voters can’t overcome the 70%. So whenever I hear a vote them out of office I know it’s from a non CA guy running his mouth about a issue they don’t have a clue about.

If republicans believe that pro-gun independent, libertarian, and anti-political party liberals are willing to cowtow to the republican party just because that party likes guns a bit better, you are very wrong.

Yes, Texas don’t need any liberal leaning voters who also claim to be “gun owners” voting in the same political landscape that jacked up California.
I am Texan native but lived in California for a good part of my life and year by year it got worse and worse until we had to get out.
The mantra “vote with your feet” can work but seriously the “conservative/constitutional ” section of America is dying or they just feel totally defeated and their vote will not matter.

Isn’t ironic that during the Civil War the south was known as the “slave” states and the rest of the country were the “free” states. Now the exact opposite is true.

Face it, the obviously intelligent citizens of CA want these kinds of decisions (restrictions). In the infamous words of Obummer: “Elections have consequences.” Now they must live with the consequences of electing a lifelong Liberal/Progressive/Democrat/Socialist.
What about the people who only vote for Republicans?
I was fat, dumb and happy, in a solidly Republican Congressional District in Southern, Virginia represented by Randy Forbes until…the courts redrew with district lines and now, I’m thrown in with Richmond, which is a world away from military-centric Hampton Roads. My new Congressman is Democrat Bobby Scott. As you can imagine, he has an F from the NRA and does Jack and shit for the military here. Gerrymandering is a real thing.

This is the purpose of redrawing districts. The idea is filed under “equality” so all people have a voice and do not feel like the minority!
What it truly is about is demographics that singles out (section 8) minorities, not being inclusive. This is done by both sides but with this administration time in office it’s been fierce. So within the rich areas of a city section 8 housing will be allowed cause our government is raising the monthly payments to these people so they move into the predominantly republican areas and in time that area will be redrawn and under democratic control. I guarantee you Obama, Reid, or any politician will not need to live next door to section 8.
Every section 8 place I have seen is nothing but trash pit. So how can it be a good thing to turn high dollar income areas into slum? Ask your local representative.
It is very horrible. One day I had a Congreesman that did a damn fine job of keeping me informed of any and everything happening across the Potomac, the next day I get someone just as bad as our ‘Senators’. One never never responded to anything I had to say, and the other just gave me some horse dung cut and paste response about why the Democratic party’s unilateral anti-2nd Amendment stance was more important than the rights of me and my fellow Virginians.
A good friend just moved to California because of work. Now says he’s planning to openly ignore the law. God bless him and those that follow his example.
If my rights can be negotiated away by other people, they certainly don’t feel like rights to me.
As mentioned above, it’s can be problematic when people “flee” places like CA because many of them tend to vote for the same policies which resulted in them leaving in the first place.

I’m presuming sarcasm, and nope. Most of the “assault weapons” used in California crimes are sold in Nevada and driven across the border. The LAPD washout is one spectacular example of this.
Also, we’re clamping down on parole/probation searches of habitual criminals (you know, because cops are the REAL criminals). Apparently it hurts their feelings and prompts them to re-offend…

Don’t blame California for AZ’s problems. A good portion of the A-Hole voters in CA weren’t born here. They’re transplants from other states and countries coming here to make money. Now that they messed it up and can’t afford to live here they’re popping smoke, leaving their trash behind and moving off to the next nice place to exploit. Partially because of decades of liberal minded transplants from other states and countries who came here looking for money. Most of CA is fairly conservative, but we suffer the same problem as Oregon and Washington. We are controlled by the population masses of LA and the Bay Area. Just like the Seattle/Tacoma voters screw up Washington and Portland screws up Oregon.

Ok none of you are factoring in things like gerrymandering of voting districts that let’s anti gunners maintain firm control of the legislature, Can I suggest that if you are in california and decide to move don’t move to Texas or Arizona where those rights are very secure, move to oregon where they could use the help to correct the quagmire that is portland.

Sadly I miss the outdoor aspect of California. Where else can you wake up and go to the beach for a few hours then be in the mountains 2 hours later and get some night skiing in?
Well, off the top of my head, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, and there’s no shitty desert to go through. And the Outer Banks are far better than any beach in the entirety of CA.
I’ll take your outer banks and raise that with Big Sur, Carmel and Monterey.
Also, we loved the desert areas of Joshua Tree so not sure what’s meant by “shitty desert”?
I hope Idaho stays red for as long as possible. The recent influx of refugees, Californians, etc might eventually change that 🙁
As soon as my kids are grown and out of college my wife and I plan on moving out of CA, probably to Nevada, there, I will be able to enjoy my 2nd Amendment rights freely, have a lower cost of living, and not have to deal with as much liberal/PC BS as I do here.

Something needs to be done, this is getting ridiculous, one should never have to be an apologist for the 2nd Amendment.
