    Of course a new rail is going to come out right after I finish my AK. If this is lighter than putting an ultimak over a hogue overmolded grip then it is definitely worth it.

    I’ve read that there may be problems with mounting optics over the gas tube due to high temps throwing off the optics internal electronics.

    I’ve been noticing a lot more love and the push for (quality) AK rifles and parts in the past few years. I was a little WASR back in the college days at the tail end of when all AKs were considered cheap, regardless of build quality. I wouldn’t mind picking up a quality AK since I’ve all but bought and built various combos of AR15s I’m interested in.

      Honestly, bang for buck, the WASR still wins. Henderson Defense (battlefield Vegas) spoke very highly of their high round count durability compared to the more expensive types of AKs.
