LBT Inc Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and LBT, Inc is doing their part to help find a cure.

Ken Beasley, the VP of Manufacturing at LBT Inc shared this statement with us:

LBT is proud to boast a 80% female dominated work force. Over the last 3 decades, these fine ladies have a combined 1,500+ years’ of sewing experience/expertise between them.

We are proud to say that we have 6 survivors who have won the fight with breast cancer on our team; we are equally devastated to say that we have had 3 team members who fought and lost their battle with breast cancer. With that being said, awareness and early detection are the key components in defeating breast cancer, so please join LBT and SGK in the search for “The Cure!”

They’ve created these Pink packs as a means to raise money and awareness.

$10 dollars from each pack sold will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Tidewater organization as well as a portion of all patch sales too.

Is SGK cool now? I thought that organization had ties to satan.

  2. SShink says:

My mother’s sisters both had it and one eventually succumbed to it. Fighting breast cancer needs to be a priority.
However, be aware that donations to Susan G. Komen Tidewater become grants that support Planned Parenthood centers.

Which isn’t a bad thing in itself, although the fact it’s not the cause it’s meant to go to originally is bad.

LBT, Make some more of the Flag patches please! Already sold out

  4. Erin says:

Never understood why breast cancer was made a bigger deal than all of the other cancers out there. Some considerably more deadly.

  5. SLG says:

SGK has also historically denied donations from the firearms industry. Maybe they changed their mind.

Awesome, an LBT bag for my decidedly non-tactical better half. She is 6 years post-treatment. At age 37 she had cancerous masses in each breast. She had bilateral radical mastectomies and reconstruction and 1 go around of chemo. Now on year six of ten taking Tamoxifen to suppress hormones that fuel the cancer. When she was first diagnosed it was 1 out of every 9 women who would get breast cancer; now it is 1 out of 7. I am a big promoter of what I call the “Boobs & Balls Campaign,” monthly breast & testicle exam. A self exam or a team event with your significant other. Please, please, females, check your breasts every month and have the doctor check yearly. My better half is a nurse and could not feel anything during monthly check; it was her primary care doctor who felt it. While she was fighting this battle her 20 year old nephew discovered a lump in his testicle: yes, it was cancer. No, he did not survive. Through this awful experience I learned a few things. I learned fear is just a physiological response that you can ultimately conquer. Information is an inoculation against it. I learned that my significant other is a tough bitch that kicked cancer’s ass. Most importantly, love each other every day.

Any money that goes to help is better than no money.

Thank you for sharing that. Your wife sounds like an amazing woman. I am sure her journey was made easier by having a husband worthy of her struggles.
You are right about loving each other every day.
I hate movie quotes but the line, “to know life in every breath” in Katsumoto’s synopsis of th bushido code is one I live by. I attended far too many memorial services in uniform to not learn what a tenuous thing life is. My wife and son will never have any doubt what they mean to me because i tell them and show them every day.
Also, the(awesome) flight surgeon PA in my last unit was a female and a cancer survivor. She didnt give a damn how embarrased you got, she groped your junk like it was a cashmere sweater. She also saved two guys lives that I am aware of.
      Godspeed on your journey.

Cancer is a bitch, plain and simple. It’s an equal opportunity killer, devastating those with it and those left in its wake.

Among conspiracy folks, cancer can be cured but they reason, where’s the money in that?
