Has anyone said, “Release the Kraken!” yet?
I hate to say it but the pistol silencer is quickly becoming like the 1911 and AR market. Ho Hum until you show me something truly NEW/BETTER or substantially CHEAPER. Every one of these “new” cans is within one or two db of each other and has the same features.
This!
How horrible that we have all of these options…
Back in my day we stuck potatoes on the end of our pistols and spent casing in our ears, and we liked it.
Wow. We thought you would be impressed by the fact that we didn’t copy the industry standard K baffle or build a trusty clipped cone stack or a really cool monocore.
Maybe you just don’t quite know what you are looking at here. The Orion baffle design is probably one of the most unique baffle designs to be released in recent years.
Look again. The shielded cone and coaxial chamber formed between two baffles with cross venting throughout. User serviceable with taper seals between each baffle in the stack to ensure zero carbon exposure to the tube when the stack is placed in compression.
It’s trendy stuff but the nuances are subtle. It deserves a second look. I do agree that there is a lot of repetition and regurgitated ideas in the industry. This however is not one of them.
Performance and price are not mentioned in the piece either but since you asked. You can expect a 123-124 db average (it’s a 9mm can not a .45acp that’s probably a typo) and an MSRP at least 150 less than anything on the market that performs that well.
So there you go!! Unique, better, and Cheaper. How many do you need??
good luck getting any serious shooter worth their salt or my SOC group (special operators of competition) to buy this can.
Stainless steel? Really? Cans like these are a diamond dozen and really not worth a second look. I’ve taken many tactical classes and have done some of the most intense competitions which are basically equivalent to high intensity warfare in terms of shooting, physical output and skill required and I’ll tell you that stainless steel simply doesn’t cut the mustard. Ounces are pounds and pounds are painful. Last thing I want to do is twist my ankle making my transitions because the centrifugal force of having that massive steel suppressor on my custom Glock 19 (just like special forces) sends me face first into the barrier.
A+ well done
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Sorry it isn’t the product to fulfill your intense training needs, but as SSD (soldier systems daily) said in another comment, what is so horrible about having more options, including reasonably priced ones for people who don’t need to pay a premium to shave every last gram. Why do people have to sh*t on every new product release that isn’t made of unobtainium and 2x lighter that the competition?
Also fyi it’s “dime-a-dozen”
Troll level 9.
Dude. You are so right. You have no idea. So we actually have you and your SOC group covered. CGS Kraken will be offered not only in full length and K configuration but will be offered in two forms pf material construction.
Contrary to what is stated on the brief piece on this can it is not a .45acp caliber suppressor. The CGS Kraken is a 9mm can and users can choose to purchase either the KRAKEN SS consisting of heat treated 17-4 SS baffles and a grade 9 Titanium tube (think full auto subgun can) or the much lighter less ankle twisting HYDRA AL. The AL model will consist of 17-4 piston, piston housing and blast baffle with 7075 typeIII hard anodized baffle stack, tube, and end caps.
We are offering industry leading sound reduction performance in a short and ultra light weight package. If you have a full auto 9mm and want the 17-4 internals we Can make that happen for you too. Compete as intensely as you wish. CGS Suppressors will never throw you off balance. I guarantee it.
