I’m curious if it has any proprietary parts that require it to only be serviced by a limited number (one in the case of the 5.11 watches) of service centers to maintain the warranty / performance of the watch?

I wonder if the bands are fully warrantied for breakage. Any rubber band sucks and breaks and most manufacturers couldn’t give a crap. Try Luminox for example, a $500 watch and the bands break in the same place every time and they do NOT cover the band period.

If you’re that concerned about breakage, there are always NATO/Zulu bands to swap them out with. I’ve found that most OEM rubber straps don’t last very long. If you are dead set on rubbers, take a look at the Isofrane straps.
