All Skill No Luck Wants Your Opinion On Green Flannel

Last weekend, All Skill No Luck’s Flannel Combat Shirts went viral. Their Red and Ocean colors immediately sold out and they started getting requests for Green. In response, they created this rendering.

They can do it, but it will be a special run with a 1000 yard minimum from the mill, which works out to a half ton in weight, thousands of dollars in fabric and who knows how much in shipping. That also means that they will need to sell 350 flannels making it a pre-order item.

I’ll throw in one piece of feedback with this article. Right now they are using Fruit of the Loom 100% cotton T-shirts as the base. There are a lot better choices of fabric out there. With the new color, it’s time to consider a new base fabric.

  1. Jeremy says:

I’d be down for any of the colors in an outdoor oriented wool blend or technical fabric. Would be great for backpacking!

    • CWG says:

I also want a gray and blue one, but I’ll buy green if y’all make more of the shit.

Regular blouse type tho, not the tear off one

  2. Jack Griffin says:

Want. Would buy. That’d give me four colors of their shirts in the rotation, which would be ideal for long trips.

  3. rob371 says:

    Hell to the yes.

  4. Jon says:

I’d def get one in Green. I like the grey one they have pictures of on their page, but it’s not available yet I guess. Either would be welcome in my closet.

  5. Jack says:

    Yes please

  6. EODFish says:

I wonder if they would be willing to move back orders to the possible new colorway.

  7. straps says:

My opinion is hell to the yes.

  8. jellydonut says:

Ends up looking like Swedish M90 camouflage.

  9. Stu says:

It would be a buy for me, but only if the base fabric was not cotton, but something having either breathablility, anti-microbial/anti-bacterial, and/or easily washed. All in a durable package.

Basically what I would need outdoors.

    • rob371 says:

I would also add FR if possible. Probably why some would prefer cotton.

      • Jeremy says:

Why, in a situation that requires FR clothing, would you be wearing something that is clearly a civilian fashion piece?

        • Jack Griffin says:

This. All this talk about “but it’s cotton” and “I need FR” totally miss the point of a garment like this and forget the type of company that is bringing the product to market.

Not everybody is operating operationally 24/7, amigos. Sometimes you’re stuck doing office nerd stuff in an outdoor environment. Sometimes you just want pockets. And, hey, it looks cool.

          • Stu says:

Maybe I hunt, hike, and fish were its cold and the thought of carrying around a sponge of my own sweat isn’t that appealing.

I’m not for, or against, FR, as its not an issue.

    • Luke says:

I’m no fan of cotton, but your requirements in no way rule it out. cotton is more breathable then most synthetics and one of the easiest fabrics to wash, also much less prone to smell.

  10. Kyle says:

These are awesome. Please set up a go find me, kick starter, or pre order page. If these can come out at a reasonable price ~$50 I’ll buy a few of them.

    • SSD says:

$50? Have you ever bought a Combat shirt? Particularly, one made in the US?

    • Payce says:

They’re around $150 normally, on sale recently at $90. You may as well start looking at something else.

  11. Sean says:

Really digging the green color, do it!

  12. Alex says:

    Do it!!

  13. AbnMedOps says:

Bah. If cotton kills, then flannel is mass murder. Don’t be sheepish – switch to wool!

  14. Scott says:

Get shipping to Canada sorted out too, we can help move 350.

  15. Mike says:

    I’m in

  16. Hubb says:

    I am in for a pre-order.

I recommend DriFire t-shirts for the base layer.

  17. Nhero says:

I would totally buy a green one.

  18. Marcel says:

    I’ll take 2 thank you

  19. John says:

Ordered the red one last week, would have totally got the green one if it was available.

  20. Borebrush says:

They are missing a major market opportunity by not licensing this to a major retailer. this doesnt have to be a tacticool thing that gets ripped and sold for $40 in Tractor Supply.

  21. Cliff says:

    2 calorie FR please!!!

  22. Cliff says:

    But sign me up regardless.

  23. Adam A Drucker says:

    I’ll buy one

  24. David Phillips says:

That green looks awesome! I’d wear two at a time if I could. Wait. Pass the twinkies, I can do this!

  25. Cody Nelson says:

Yes! A green color way would be amazing and this red being is awesome!

  26. Dwain says:

I’d buy the shirt shown. I like earth tones.

  27. Mike says:

Wool please. From hiking to carrying my daughter through a farmer’s market, I’ll take wool over cotton everyday of the week.

  28. Brady Parks says:

I would for sure pre order one!

  29. matty says:

Do want!! As others have stated I’d be down for a more technical fabric but I know that will also drive up cost. Regardless I’m in.

  30. SG says:

Another Canadian knocking at the door. Let me in and I will buy. TAKE MY MULTICOLOURED MONEY!!!

  31. Adam Lyon says:

    Absolutely

  32. paul says:

    i’d buy one

  33. Esteban says:

I like the idea and cut! BUT all that money for a cotton shirt that will shrink and useless in the bush?! Maybe when they use a real fabric. I have no problem paying money for good gear. But cotton. Negative

  34. Jerome Brownell says:

Would be great if you make a 4xl Tall
    At 6’6” & 350, that’s what I need

  35. Moray says:

    I’m in

  36. Nik Mattus says:

One word… Pendleton. Made in the usa flannel 100% virgin wool. Why is the wheel always trying to be invented with more expensive substandard product??

    • SSD says:

Have you priced Pendleton wool? It’s awesome, but it ain’t cheap. Not by a long no shot.

    • mike says:

“Why is the wheel always trying to be invented with more expensive substandard product??”

      Cost

  37. Kango says:

Wow all of it sold out or backordered.

  38. These are awesome. Run it.

  39. Matt T says:

Definitely agree that there are better fabrics out there to be used than FOTL cotton t-shirt as the base. One of my favorite shirts is a poly/cotton/rayon blend. It’s stupid soft and durable as heck. I mean, sure cotton will be cooler in warmer weather but let’s be real, this is a flannel. The poly blend is perfect for keeping in warmth and will wick away moisture.

  40. Larry Watson says:

    Love it!!!

  41. Mark Quimby says:

We’ve already talked about this a few times on Facebook Messenger so you know what I think. But that picture you posted on this pole is perfect!

  42. Jeff says:

I definitely would be interested in two of these shirts! I like the poly/cotton/rayon blend that holds up well through all types of weather!

  43. Torch says:

Would definitely buy the green field shirt and field shirts in other colors.

    • Torch says:

Would also be nice to have an alert email if this moves forward so we don’t miss out on the action.

  44. Buckaroomedic says:

Yup, I’ll take a green one

  45. Bad Dancer says:

Count me down for another. Count me down for more if they evolve this product into something with a different material. Digging the green a lot.

  46. HSR47 says:

That color/pattern looks pretty cool, but there’s no way in hell I’m going to spend $90+ on a cotton shirt. Wool maybe, but not cotton.

  47. Baldy288 says:

SSD, any word if this is going forward or time frame if it is I would love the green for a few Christmas presents.. Thanks

  48. Hey guys. I wanna see the red/black, ocean, a green, and a grey tones.

    Fuck yeah. Semper Fi.
