SIG SAUER - Never Settle

Darley Defense Days 19 – Maxim Defense PDX 300BLKOUT

Maxim Defense is exhibiting their new 300BLKOUT version of the PDX.

Specs:
Barrel Length: 5.5”
Colors: Black or Arid
Overall Length: 18.75”
Weight (empty): 5 lbs 11 oz
Muzzle Device: Maxim Defense HATEBRAKE™ Muzzle Booster
Stock: Maxim Defense SCW™ stock system (SBR and Pistol Brace)
Trigger: ALG Combat Trigger (ACT)

The big thing with this version is that they’ve developed a new gas system in order to deal with both super and sub sonic cartridges without any manual adjustments. This video shows the PDX 300BLKOUT being loaded with alternating super and subsonic rounds. Not a hiccup.

Maxim Defense products are available for unit and agency orders through Darley Defense.

    Mic drop.

  2. MP says:

    Looks great!
Will you be able to take the brake off and fit a suppressor? SD version?

  3. Kyle Kata says:

I wonder if the muzzle break (HATEBRAKE) is a functional part of the gas system, would it run all the same with a bare muzzle?

Seems to be a pound heavier than HoneyBadger, probably a stronger stock, $400 less, and 1.5” shorter if using the same length barrel.

IDK, seems alright if you are in the market for as small as you can make a carbine.

    • KeyPlayer says:

According to a Maxim associate I saw a video of during Shot Show and he said it wouldn’t run without the Hatebreak. The Hatebreak creates backpressure like a suppressor in order to keep the PDX running reliably and with backpressure it creates a much dirtier environment into the receivers just like a suppressor does.

      • SSD says:

The hatebreak is essentially a krinkov-style muzzle device which is how the Soviets got the AK-84U to function.

  4. Aaron Orr says:

5 lbs. 11 ounces empty? No magazine? Are they cutting the receivers from steel billets? LWRCI UCIW stock, buffer, and spring could be adapted and would present a significant weight savings. An easy 4 lbs. 15 ounces empty. And it would be a 9″ barrel and 8″ handguard.

I was thinking the same thing, seems a bit “heavy” for the compact size of it. My duty rifle is a 14.5 and weighs only 6 more ounces empty.
