Geissele – Super Stabby Bayonet Mount

It’s been a few years since we first showed you the Geissele Super Stabby Bayonet Mount (SSBM), but along with a new name, it’s finally available. The SSBM facilitates a bayonet mount directly to a Picatinny rail for rifles without the traditional front sight post and its bayonet post.

Made from 7075-T6 Aluminum, the SSBM is optimized for the M9 Bayonet but is also compatible with Bayonets that interface with the M16 Mil-Spec Bayonet Lugs and front barrel/muzzle rings. It only requires 5 Picatinny sections to be mounted.

Offered in OD Green, DDC and Black.

So ghey only a requirements officer, post deployment suffering from papercuts, could conceive of it.

Isn’t the obvios anwer to shorten the rail and then add a bayonet mount to barrel ala LMT NZ design?

  2. Nicks87 says:

Wow what a redundant waste of money…

  3. TheScrutineer says:

I don’t see how this is any differnet than retro fitting a cavalry style sword bayonet to an M16A1. It’s just as much of a throwback.

Certainly a neato collectable but I can’t imagine this being a solution to any serious customer’s problems; there have got to be soooo many more F marked FSBs out there than trick new free float rails and low profile gas blocks.

I think bayonets appear to be obsolete because the very limited circumstances that they thrive have not happened in some time but like any specialized tool they have a use. For a daily patrol where everyone drives back to the FOB every evening for dinner the bayonet is just weight and maybe worth leaving on base. For the jungles, total war, trenches, some real post apocalyptic nonsense – there are some applications the bayonet may come in handy.

Now, if they can only make it fold down to be a Monopod too.

I wish Geissele would worry about actually getting uppers or scope mounts in stock instead of this crap. What a waste of time/production.

      • Yawnz says:

Considering these also out of stock too, I highly doubt they’re actually producing very many.

  7. Sommerbiwak says:

Well, it certainly generates attention for Geissele.

  8. Hubb says:

Two words…weapon retention. With that said, I think the weakness in this system is the two t-nuts.

  9. Bobby davro says:

Looks similar to the piccatiny mount that used to be issued with lmt sharpshooter to fit the sa80 bayonet

  10. Chris from Cali says:

Let me guess… “someone” from a government agency or unit asked for this?

    • SSD says:

Yeah…if you ever want to get away from the classic M16 FSP, you have to come up with a new way to mount bayonets.

  11. Ron Green says:

Hey guys, what’s your price and availability of the super standby mount?
