You’d get laughed off the job site with that thing. Pencil and Sharpie in the shirt pocket and speed square stayed with the table saw or ban saw.

    • SSD says:

Asking for a friend. Do you replace employees’ tools that are stolen when left unattended?

      • Biblicalviolence says:

I never had any issues with my or any of my coworkers tools being stolen when I was in the trades. I suppose it was because I had a modicum of reciprocated respect; the types of floors we did ccommanded expertise and could make or break the other trades keeping their schedule(s) of completion (essentially, if we had a serious problem, the whole job would shut down).

        • SSD says:

That doesn’t happen everywhere. As the Squadron Sergeant Major of 1 Sq SASR once told me, “Lieutenant, mind your kit around the Kiwis, they’re thieving bastards.”

Given I worked on a job site where a guy in a red velour tracksuit and white running shoe, made disparaging comments behind my back that I was a “faggot” for wearing knee pads – and managed to cut a finger off with a circular saw a few days later – the opinion of anyone else on a job site as to what I wear or how I carry what I deem important, matters very little to me.

    Tactical? ?

  3. Mayor McCheese says:

Seems neat. Not being PALS compatible is a deal-breaker, though – seems like kind of a bonkers decision to create a proprietary webbing system no one else uses.

Owing to Atlas46’s lineage(ex of EIUC), their overall attention to detail and quality of materials and manufacturing, I’ve been convinced to buy a lot of their kit over the years. It just just works. Think it rather commendable that Biblicalviolence got to work in such orderly and tidy place. As a PMC – wherever I went – any and all of my tools had to go with me. Atlas46’s kit designs made portability and deployment, almost pleasant. And yes, MiamiC70 – Atlas46 actually is tactical – the number of U.S. Army Engineers and other Armed Forces elements that consistently asked me questions as to where I’d bought my kit or other details about it, completely bears that one out. And big surprise – resident Mayor McCheese has managed to find something unimportant to nit-pick about yet again.. Keep up the great work Atlas46!!

I comment here maybe 3 times a year … didn’t realize I had anyone keeping tabs on me. The more you know!
