The only person who needs to “take the L” is you. The ATF is not a legislative body, ergo any ruling they hand down is outside of their jurisdiction.
Even then, how is this an “L”? The ATF retracted their ruling regarding classifying pistol-braced weapons as short-barreled rifles. Nevermind the fact that they had previously found them perfectly acceptable.
If you really cared about “law and order”, you’d accept the fact that the ATF does not have legislative authority.
If the law and law enforcement application of said law are catching bad guys running around with braces, let’s see the data. There is none, I’d bet, don’t know for sure but I’d bet. So what’s the goal here? Tweak gun owners with a petty silly by the book interpretation of a regulation that had no true result of crime reduction. Trump is still president, perhaps he can do something. The entire NFA regime is silly stacked upon silly, SBR regulation is just a great example.

It really doesn’t matter. The only reason SBR/SBS/AOW exists is to catch the “loopholes” from the pistol ban that was originally intended, absolutely pointless without it. Always get a kick out of gun control advocates trying to talk about pistol braces being used to make the guns more accurate/ shootable- like do you really want more random fire into crowds? Every single weekend there’s a dude with a pistol opening up on a club, obviously what’s needed is greater dispersion for maximum effect!!! People get around things ,they always have and always will. It’s usually a sign, just a step before simply ignoring the law entirely – that usually doesn’t bode well for the society as a whole.
The ATF is the ONLY agency of the Federal Government that is both a regulatory agency and a law enforcement agency. Moreover their sole purpose is to regulate perfectly LEGAL items (Firearms) that have the unique position of being expressly protected and guaranteed in the US Constitution.
Tell me again how they are keeping us safe? Tell me again why we need
“Protection” from our right to keep and bear arms?
