We would be remiss if we didn’t share the recently released Impact 4000 Ballistic Rail-Mounted Laser Rangefinder from Vortex Optics.

In looking at the website, I cannot tell where it is made. Any clue?
Considering Vortex scopes are made in China, it’s probably made there
Called them vs speculating;
Its made in Taiwan
Taiwan is officially part of the Republic of China.
West Taiwan needs to calm down
Taiwan needs to get its shit together and start using their island as an example for the mainland.
I have three Vortex scopes, two Viper PST Gen 2 5-25x50s and a Viper HST 6-24×50 and all three are made in the Philippines.
Have you tried contacting them instead?
I saw an article that Army was fielding these on their ‘Next Gen’ weapon systems. I’m not a Berry Compliance expert, but I would think that indicates US manufacture? Based on the 3k msrp, I feel like it might be.
This is not the same laser range finder the XM157 optic is using. This is purely a civilan laser.
Of course it’s not. You can’t sell military grade lasers commercially. But the DNA is certainly there.
While it does look aesthetically similar to the XM157 optics laser it shares no technology or DNA. The Army uses lasers in the 1535-1550nm wavelength to hide from enemy night vision devices, the Vortex Impact 4000 is a 905nm laser like most traditional golf/hunting lasers you see on the market. Most military style lasers are around the 10,000-15,000 dollar price range.
Side note: Lasers in the 1535-1550nm wave length are not power restricted to civilians because they are eye safe at any power level.
NGSW version is significantly more advanced and integrated into a fire control unit, it is not the impact 4000
Berry compliance only deals with textiles.
Cool but iit’s YUGE!
There no way to get accurate or positive alignment with your scope. There no optical alignment to laser. Just trusting your scope. POS.
