AUSA 26 – Drone Round in 6.8×51

Drone Round showed us their new 6.8×51 round for use with Next Generation Weapons System.

Here, you can see it next to the 5.56mm NATO version. The counter drone ammunition will be offered in both K & L variants which feature different dispersal radii.

Offering an effective counter-FPV drone solution which can be employed using existing small arms, Drone Round has begun to see limited procurement by the Army, Marine Corps and SOF here in the US as well as by multiple partner nations worldwide.

  1. Brother Grimm says:

Drone rounds contain small numbers of fragments, one has four BB pellets in 5.56mm. Four of those weigh 40 grains and ten may be fired per second for 400 grains. Two rounds of 12 gauge in the same time is over 1092 grains with a much better hit probability, since full auto 5.56 will cause most to miss the original aim point through muzzle rise and control issues.

They say: “I don’t want to carry another weapon!”, but if they live they will.
