And no tourniquet? Is this a joke?
No joke, just left it off the list. It’s there now.
Now it looks like a good buy if the price is right – $30-$40, no more.
Hey Joe,
Where do you get that price? The Combat Gauze or TK alone costs $30. It irks me that guys will spend $30 EACH on the latest gee whiz magazine for their weapon but won’t drop cash on a med kit that will save themselves or me in the event of a critical injury. Reassess your monetary priorities and purchase accordingly or the companies driving medical breakthroughs will disappear and we will all miss out.
No it doesn’t.
I just picked this kit up for less than $40 (price has increased for some reason since then):
Kit Contents:
2 x Black Talon® Nitrile Trauma Gloves (1 pr.)
1 x C-A-T® (Combat Application Tourniquet®)
1 x S-Rolled GauzeTM
1 x ETDTM 4 in. Emergency Trauma Dressing

$169 for the kit. Not a bad price all things considered. Something to look at not just for combat loads but for bug-out bags, kits and general preparedness.
That’s insanely overpriced!
Guys – As far as I can tell the kit includes a TQ and the molle pouch to mount it on your rig. Look at the refill price that’s much more reasonable
You’re a Walmart kind of a guy aren’t you? You’re always looking for a bargain. You’ll skimp on the name brand in order to save a couple of bucks? Pouch for your gear? A surplus MOLLE pouch or something form a knockoff airsoft brand will do.
You don’t mind comparing apples and oranges to make your point. That link you posted doesn’t have all of the items in this kit and it is missing a pouch.
What’s your agenda?
169 for the kit is crazy. do a line by line analysis on the kit items… must be a very expensive pouch.
Wrong, do it line by line and you are coming out ahead. We’re not shopping Ebay for secondhand goods.
1) the components aren’t cheap if you search them out. ~$125 for all the components without the pouch and it it’s a custom-made pouch, so yeah, it’s a more expensive piece of the kit but it makes the kit pretty low profile and compact with a lot of nice features. You also have to consider the labor costs to pack and seal the kits, the material used (bags and labels) as well as the shipping. When it’s all said and done, there’s probably not a great deal of profit made.
All in all, it’s a good deal with some solid products. Oh yeah, it also comes with a pair of trauma shears too.
If you don’t have something nice to say….well, I’m sure you know the rest….or maybe you don’t.
Indeed, a $100 pouch…
Its priced properly and it is HANDS DOWN the most efficient and simple system ive seen. A great all around medkit.
I would kill to run an IP trace on this comment.
$10 says it belongs to someone affiliated with the company that puts out this kit.
Hi Joe Schmoe, I’m the owner of Dark Angel Medical and I have no idea who Orion307 is but I appreciate his comments. So, seeing that your $10 is gone, I’ll tell you what. If you want, I’ll give you $10 off of a kit if you’d like to order one.
I hope all of you stay safe and never have to use your med kits. But…if you do, I hope you have the training necessary to fully utilize the components therein and I hope that the components are of the highest quality.
Stay safe and remember, it’s all about Simplicity Under Stress.
Best regards,
Pocket Doc
Joe Schmoe,
Please go troll elsewhere. The “kit” you sourced from Amazon is in no way comparable. If you don’t want to spend your money on quality, that’s fine. Please let the grownups have grownup discussions here.
Price wise, go through a few med websites and put together the same list of supplies and you will find out that this price is about the same as what others charge for just the loose supplies. But here you also get a vacuum sealed package that does not take up a lot of space on your PC or belt. What is nice are the two ways to buy it either the whole kit with a EGL pouch and trauma shears, or just the insert.
Quick Clot Combat Gauze is expensive, but a proven life saver. CAT TQ’s are not inexpensive either, but again proven to be extremely effective. I also love vacuum packed mid kits as they take up less space on my kit. But the vacuum packing add another layer of protection if you are in a jungle or desert to gear that does not do well with repeated dirt and water exposure.
I have had the chance to use this kit while doing medical training and it is very efficient to use. Granted the roll of this kit is for your buddy to use on you or to use it for self aid during CUF. Personally if I get to pick what my buddy is going to use to treat my injuries, I want the guy to have the best stuff available to treat my wounds. But what the heck do I know I’m a medic with only 21 years of experience.
I know the guy personally and have also put my own kits together. Please believe me when I tell you that his profit margin is very slim and he has tried and succeeded putting together a quality kit. I’ve spent nearly as much putting mine together because I searched out top notch med gear. If you don’t like what you see or the information he freely gives out, simply go to one of the big companies who throw these things together for cheaper. He’s a good man who is trying to offer something which can save lives. btw – I am not affiliated with his company, but have gotten to know him because of all the questions I’ve had about tactical first response care which he has been good enough to answer. I’m in SoCal and DarkAngel is in CO.
