I would speculate that the un-camo’d gun is somewhat intentional–to provide points of reference for the camouflaged individual. Same reasoning behind the black gloves.
If this pattern is adopted I can already envision a Marine in Desert MARPAT walking up to me while I’m wearing “Nomad” and cracking jokes about the “pretty flowers” in my uniform…
Man, the “tactical” black rifle kinda defeats the purpose of the camo… 😉

Another “really good” camo which is made completely redundant by not camoing up their gun. When will people learn?

That’s about $5K worth of gun. Who in their right mind would pony up $20K for all 4 shoots?
Bushmaster only had to pony up 2 guns for the ATACS shoots ;).
