I would respond directly to Doc B’s comment, but since it is absurd, insulting, and ignorant, I will just say congratulations to the preeminent air force in the world!

I love the Air Force and it really is the finest in the world but I dont think it needs a different name than how it started as the Army Air Force. Half of those people in that video were from the Army Air Force/Corps. The Navy never separated its air assets and the Marines are still in the Department of the Navy with their own Air assets. If the Air Force was still in the Department of the Army, billions could be saved on flag ranks from reducing command postions, overhead, training pipelines for MPs, clerks, air controllers, medics and so on. AFSOC and USASOC could integrate capabilities slash some of that big SOCOM money they need, then slash their own staitionary, unique uniforms, medals and award system, unique paperwork, and so on. Not only would billions be saved but it would allow the Army to have more of a dedicated “Air wing” attached to units like the Marines have and are widely copied for their efficiency. Like I said, I love the Air Force for what they do, but it doesnt need to be its own branch and department. I will also say that the Marines need to consolidate the recon guys into their MARSOC units because they are truly redundent. We all know they didnt like the “elite within the elite” idea but caved because it was more money for them. There is millions to be saved there as well. They can either integrate them or pull out of SOCOM.
