As you are aware, few companies are manufacturing camouflaged skis. In fact, when it comes to skis, you’re going to want to balance cost and performance. Good for the military but very bad idea for civilians unless it’s a pattern that stands out in the snow. Could you imagine covering your skis in a pattern that blends in with the snow and you wipe out pretty good and send your ski flying? You’d be going, “hey, where did my ski go?”.
I agree with you on the military thing but it’s a good idea if you buy a set of used skis and want to change up the pattern. All you have to do is send a picture of your favorite theme to DLS and they will send you custom vinyl based off of your specs. Make it bright orange or have a logo of your favorite football team put on them. The sky is the limit.

True, just not any camo pattern that blends in with the snow too well. Being a former Marine I’d probably get a set done in blue with a red stripe down the middle, an EGA at the front and Cpl’s chevrons in the back or something like that.

Not affiliated, just found out about them from a friend who wanted me to design a 3D relief topo map of his ski area for his ski setup.
As a jarhead, I like the idea of Dress Blue skis, but would probably opt for SSD’s favorite MARPAT, heh. Easier to see on snow, and still distinctive.
Completely off the topic of “tactical”, but wraps to change the graphics of skis is a great thing for instructors like myself. A lot of the newer style of all mountain skis are great but come with topsheet graphics that may be offensive or disturbing to parents of kids.
Can someone provide a direct link to Defense Logistic Support’s ski wrap products? I’ve searched their site to no avail.

Not so. All manufacturers of military skis – which include pretty many of the ski companies with Nordic origins – make their military skis snow *white*. While a snow camo pattern may seem more cool, plain snow white should usually be the best camouflage for skis, as the skis are used laying against the snowy ground. Any pattern tends to make the ski look darker, and hence easier to observe. Much the same with open ‘all-white’ snowy terrain, like tundra, sea ice and the like. A snow pattern needs a broken background, like forest, exposed rocks and whatever non-white.
That said, those wraps might make military usage of some of the civilian skis bearable.
