The firearms industry lost a friend and pioneer last night when John Noveske perished in a single car accident near his home in Oregon. John was the founder of Noveske Rifleworks which is well known for innovation.
Noveske Rifleworks issued this statement :
Noveske Rifleworks would ask you to remember the passing of our founder, John Noveske, who died Friday, January 4th 2013 in an automobile accident.
John planned for all eventualities, and wanted to ensure any changes would be as seamless as possible for our customers, dealers, suppliers, employees and friends. While this will be a trying time, we do not expect a change in the day to day operations of Noveske Rifleworks. We would like to thank you for your support as we deal with our loss, and would ask that instead of flowers, you consider a donation to a cause we will announce at later date.
John was more than just the founder of Noveske Rifleworks, he was a loving husband and father, and caring friend.
Although I had only spoken to him once, he was a very pleasant and friendly man, well respected by peers and competitors alike. We offer our condolences to his family as they mourn his passing.
Rest in Peace.

Unbelievable. I was literally just talking to my wife this morning about how amazing Noveske rifles were. I just ordered a 10.5″ Light Shorty yesterday and she didn’t understand why I was so excited. The man and his company were true artisans and innovators. RIP John.
John, You will be sorely missed brother. Condolences to the Noveske family. John, see you on the other side!
Rest in Peace, John..
Bless my cousin for this accident
This is a sudden and tragic loss for so many people, but should also be a stark reminder that we never know when the Lord will choose to take us. “Hug those who you care about, and tell them you love them every time you go out, because you never know what the day will bring”. LEO’s and those who serve in the military should listen to this, but it applies to everyone. Rest in Peace John.
John was a long time personal friend. I met him when he just got done working for Pac-Nor. He would invite me over to his home and put me up at his house for free and would spend a week working on guns. We spent a week making me a custom gun just for me. He always treated me like a brother. I feel like I’ve lost a part of me. He was a good friend that always had the most unique ideas. I feel the worst not for myself before his family they are a wonderful And super close. I feel bad for his two young boys that looked up to him like a god. And his wife and daughter so sweet both of them. The family will be in my prayers for many nights to come. John your friendship will never be forgotten. I look forward to seeing you someday in heaven.

Unfortunately he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his Land Cruiser. Sad day in the firearms industry. He was a great guy who stood behind his product and customer service was always top notch. R.I.P John
A terrible loss for the industry and more importantly a devastating loss to his loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
