RAND CLP and VTAC Announce Partnership

I just found out that Viking Tactics founder Kyle Lamb has endorsed RAND CLP. I’m told that he met them at SHOT Show 2013 and got a few bottles to try out. Turns out, he likes it. RAND told me that Kyle “liked the viscosity, the no smell aspect and the fact that the product cleaned so well and kept the firearm wet after thousands of rounds. Also, it’s manufactured in the US!”

Sergeant Major Kyle Lamb, retired US Army Special Operation soldier, and President of Viking Tactics/VTAC, has officially endorsed RAND CLPTM as the “most innovative and effective firearms CLP on the market.”

Sergeant Major Kyle E. Lamb (retired) spent 21 years in the United States Army, more than 15 of which were with a U.S. Army Special Mission Unit. He served in several combat theaters including Mogadishu, Somalia, Iraq and Bosnia. One of his last assignments before retiring was to torture test new equipment for the US Army Special Forces Operations, ensuring America’s best combat shooters had access to the most effective and innovative equipment.
RAND’s Vice President of Sales and Operations, Jon Miodonka, says “SGM Lamb is meticulous when looking for great products & technology and won’t associate his name with just anything.”

RAND CLPTM is manufactured and distributed by RAND Brands, a division of RAND Innovations, LLC of Westport, CT. Developed by Mark Simonetti, a former Army Ranger and police firearms instructor, and using Nanotechnology as its platform RAND Brands has brought science and functionality together to create the perfect combination of a cleaner, lubricant and protectant.

RAND CLPTM burst onto the scene in February 2013 after officially launching at the SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) in Las Vegas. After 6 years of research and development, RAND Brands unveiled RAND CLPTM as the best all-in-one solution for firearm maintenance and reliability.

Says SGM Lamb of RAND CLPTM, “As a Soldier and Firearms trainer, I constantly searched for a weapon CLP that was a step ahead, I never found it…that was until RAND CLPTM came along. RAND CLPTM is head and shoulders above any weapons CLP on the market. RAND CLPTM answers all of my gun care needs.” He continues to say “RAND CLPTM changes the way your slide and bolt feel. They will be smoother than you ever imagined.”

Miodonka: “Working with Kyle and VTAC over the last 6 months has been an honor. To have the Viking Tactics and VTAC logos on our bottle is a testament to the hard work and efforts that have gone into developing RAND CLPTM at RAND Brands over the last 6 years.”

Lamb: “There are hundreds of options when it comes to cleaning, lubing and protecting your weapon, but RAND CLPTM is the best option.”

  1. I want this stuff! Can’t go wrong if Kyle is backing it!

I think anyone marketing a CLP product these days is trying to sell snake oil. A LP product, yes, there have been quite a few innovations as late, but to also say there is a cleaner product also comparative to what is best on the market in one make me think this is almost as legit at Vtac markiting their products with someone with such a stealing innovative product line as 5.11 puts out. 1960 called and wants their innovation back.
Made in China gun CLP, no thanks.

Actually “it’s manufactured in the US!”

I personally too am also getting tired of seeing gun celebrities sponsoring product whether it be costa, haley, vickers, the gunny, kyle lamb, etc….

Kyle is the nicest guy on the planet and I understand where the temptation is but its getting old

        • Bubba says:

All these people crying about these guys making endorsements. Why shouldn’t they make some money and endorse the product they like! If they are putting their name and reputation behind a product I would say that adds value. If Kyle lamb puts his name behind a product I will definitely give it a try..

    Not made in China?
Surprised, that would be the first?

Why the hate? And why is it wrong that someone indorsing a product? In the case of the RANDCLP, do you think that KL would support something that was BS? Something that would not perform and that could put someone’s life in danger is their weapon goes down at the wrong time? The man is battle tested and proven his worth behind the trigger so why the hate and doubt? I’m the former Special Weapons Coordinator for Sig Sauer and have been using the RANDCLP for the last 4 months. I have used every known CLP on the market and to be honest, when I was given this stuff I was like “yeah, whatever”. After using it for the first time I was sold. Gave it to a buddy of mine who ran 20K through a 240B and he was blown away by not just the lubrication quality, but how it significantly reduced the cleaning time. This stuff 100% USA MADE and I will never use anything else on my firearms.

A late reply… and yes, I was a bit edgy over yet another product, it actually does effect the down range dude.
I have been constantly fed an ever changing lube product while deployed, from dry lubes to spray stuff that is no longer around.
I almost would have preferred a constant supply of CLP, but instead we were constantly fed what ever the latest SUPPO was sold on.

No hate towards KL, I dunno the guy, but there is no quality control on this stuff, so guys downrange are getting lubes that suck because it is what they are issued. Just because a guy that knows someone or is known for something sponsors a product doesn’t mean it is the best thing for every weapon in every environment, but that is what Supply Officers go off of after a quick Google search and that is what the guys doing the deed get.

A while back I just went to Mobil 1 synthetic across the board, I am done with the firearm Lube market and while guys are developing the next best thing in their garage combining Lucas oil with something or another, at least this product was developed by smart people, backed by a lot of money with a lot on the line.

Bottom line: try it before you judge. If you don’t like it, then fine. That’s something people on here need to do more of, rather than be armchair SMEs.

  5. Alex E. says:

    Well when it will end.

First it was Weapon shield, then Gunzilla last year it was Frog Lube now Rand CLP. So which one is better and why !!! I am educated enough to understand the behavior of metals under heat, fire and corrosion. I really hate is that I buy them all and besides the smell all work fine to me. I am open to be educated not blown away by endorsements.
