The SureFire Ultra Scout Light models are now available upgrading the M600U and M620U to 500 lumens. Both models utilize the same LED lamp and Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens that focuses the light into a beam that puts it where you need it yet offers plenty of peripheral light. And, they offer up 1.5 hours on a single set of CR123A batteries.
The real difference between the two models is how they mount. The M600U attaches to any MIL-STD-1913 rail via its integral thumbscrew clamp, while the M620U utilizes a self-adjusting Swing-Lever™ clamp that will fit out of spec rails.
Either light is available in a Black or Tan hard-anodized aluminum body and includes both ergonomic tailcap and pressure-pad tape switch.

Inb4 someone trashes this pretty awesome weapon light because some famous trainer they never took classes with prefers lights that aren’t quite this bright.
anyone have any guesses as to when the head will be available separately?
It will be.
Surefire’s MO has always been to release the light, get it reasonably well distributed, and then release the replacement head. Heads may take a little while.
