Manage Your 550 Cord With The SpoolTool From Tricorne

The SpoolTool is a pretty cool gadget designed to carry 100′ of 550 cord and incorporates not only a cutting blade but also these series of notches for burning the ends of the cord as well as a holder for a Bic lighter. Everything you need to organize and use 550. Sure, some of you guys will spend an exhaustive amount of energy complaining about this and how it’s not needed. But I don’t really give a shit about your petty complaints. Haters gonna Hate and I’m a fan of a better mouse trap meaning I am going to buy one. Aside from some solid innovation, one of the other things I like about this is that Tricorne LLC is a Veteran owned business.

I need one of these. Is there a good source for the many uses of paracord?

  2. TR1 says:

I really like the product and I like the commentary, Eric.

      Is that thier marketing line?

      SpoolTool is cool and Eric from SSD says;
“I don’t really give a shit about your petty complaints….I’m a fan of a better mouse trap meaning I am going to buy one.”

It would make for a cool end of isle display at your favorite tactical store. definatly catchs the eye. I might get one for camping too. They would be good in the winter tobogans too.

“But I don’t really give a shit about your petty complaints.” Priceless, Thanks for that!
I’m gonna get one. Perfect for rigging kit etc.

  5. Matt says:

Im going to buy one ASAP. There is nothing I hate more than 550 cord all over the fucking place. I tie mine up, but it is still susceptible to knotting when undoing it and most of the time when you need it you need it now, not next fucking week.

    This is a great idea!

  6. C.ALAN says:

Man, Do I ever need one of these….two or more maybe as I have at least 2-3 different color paracord “clumps” laying around waitinf to be untangled and organized.

    Awesome idea!

  7. I saw this on Instagram and plan on getting one for sure.

  8. Bill says:

And I just spent the evening unknotting globs of different lengths from my cord box.

Now if only it had a solar-powered hot wire cutter or a striker surface for matches and 4 slots instead or 3 and was available in different colors to match the cord and came in a left-hand version and was made on the grounds of a US Embassy overseas so it was both imported AND made in the USA and had a 1913 rail and tritium illumination and an additional safety cutter in case of accidental auto-erotic asphyxiation….

  9. jack says:

I’m surprised nobody already challenged your statement that you were going to actually buy it 😉

    ROTFLMAO! THAT CRACKED ME UP!

I like cool gear. I may not use it, but I can appreciate it.

  11. Luke says:

no matter how carefully you coil it it always comes out in a knotted rats nest…. I’d like a simpler version for my pack but one of these would be perfect for around the house or workshop.

  12. James says:

Great looking product! Actually inspired me to have made some 550 cord spools I had been toying around with in my head for a while. More on them here -> http://blog.jameseilers.com/post/58030649045

  13. Tactical CA says:

Man, I made the most impulsive gear geek buy after reading this, and I bought four of these, one for each color of 550 cord I have wadded up in my cabinet.

I do not regret it one bit, my miles of 550 cord are finally squared away and I did a project with some cord this afternoon and it made it so much more convenient. The little cutting blade thingy is flawless, and the notches at the end saved me from burning the crap out of my fingers like I normally do.

My only complaint is that some of the notches seem a little too small to effectively round off the burnt end, some of the smaller holes just flatten out the cord. Great tool, though.

I bought one, love it, will be buying another. The haters are wrong: it is much tidier than every other field solution.
