OK. I will bite. What is a Rescue Task Force?

  2. Big_Juju says:

Schwarzenegger’s guys in Predator. “We’re a Rescue team! Not assassins!”

I believe Arlington County Fire created a Rescue Task Force after the Virginia Tech incident. It was designed for EMS to provide TCCC and rescue capabilities during active shooters/critical incidents. I’m sure there are others out there.

What does the front look like? Would love to see some TCCC specific equipment.

We are using the same plates as Arlington. They have mag pouches on the front along with a pouch. We are doing TECC not TCCC

Arlington County developed the Rescue Task Force to provide an aggressive response to an active shooter incident. The concept places medical assets inside the warm zone to provide TECC care at the point of wounding. Many of the tactics and concepts were taken form Tier One groups and other military units and adapted to the civilian side. The plate carriers were one of those. Originally the armor was a combo of soft armor and rifle plates. After testing it was found that the additional weight and loss of mobility was not worth it. As with many military units a plate carrier was chosen to reduce the weight and give the providers the mobility needed but still provide protection. The S&S carrier was a perfect fit because of its light weight and the fact that it is very easy to decon if it were to become covered in blood.

On the front there is a custom pouch designed by S&S that holds 4 MET tourniquets and just below that a single pouch that holds the Celox, H-Bandage, Needles, and Chest seals. The entire system is light weight and very mobile.
