One Of The Many Reasons You Should Support The Green Beret Foundation

This video is part of the Green Beret Foundation’s “Everyday Heroes in the Special Forces Community” video series about Green Berets and their family members. The videos share the story of these heroes’ military service and their work in their communities as they come home from war.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting SFC( Ret) Michael R Rodriguez who spent 21 years in the US Army, 15 of which were with Special Forces. He has had numerous combat deployments throughout his career, including Somalia, Afghanistan, and Haiti, as well as Central and South America. He served as an 18D, Special Forces Medic, as well as a Sniper Instructor at the Special Forces Sniper Course. Since retiring, Michael has focused his time on his three sons and his work as a blacksmith. Two of his knives have been auctioned off to raise money for the Green Beret Foundation, and he hopes to do more in the future to contribute to the foundation. Michael has also set a goal to climb the “Seven Summits” and has already climbed Mount Kilimanjaro where he conducted the first ever research on the effects of altitude and elevation on traumatic brain injury, and as a result was inducted into the famed Explorers Club as a Fellow.

I exchanged a few messages with Rodriguez prior to SHOT Show and he told me he will at the show representing the Green beret Foundation. He told me that they’ve done a lot for him and he wants to do everything to help give back.
