Kifaru – Urban Zippy

1

The Urban Zippy is Kifaru’s first entry into the Urban/EDC market. Based on the tactical Zippy, the Urban Zippy features no PALS webbing for a discreet look. Bottle pockets have been added to the side doors, sized for 1 liter Nalgene bottles. Mesh pockets on the interior of the side doors are dimensional, allowing for more storage space. The bladder pocket holds up to a 15″ laptop with a padded case. The compression straps are center adjust and removable. The Urban Zippy also comes with a 4 point matrix on the front for Kifaru’s Lock n Load pockets, along with a bungee for cinching down gear needed for quick access.

The Urban Zippy will be available in Coyote Brown, Foliage Green, Black, MultiCam, Kryptek Highlander, Kryptek Mandrake, and Kryptek Typhon. Ships May, 2014.

They need to make some in a Urban gray/Wolf color.

No PALS webbing for a discreet look? The thing screams military… still looks like a great daypack though, love Kifaru

  3. Bill says:

Yeah, which of those colors is least military? You could put PALS on a Disney Little Princess book bag and nobody would think you were military.

Of course, I’ll have to get one. The Kifaru, not the Disney.

  4. Jeremy says:

PALS or not, even Ray Charles thinks this bag looks military.

  5. Helmets says:

there is nothing discrete about this bag. the straps, shape, everything screams military

    Hey guys,

I think seeing it in Coyote might sway your thinking about a military look. If you could see one in Foliage or Black, you might think different. Here is the same pack that I shot in black and white with an Organizer pocket on the front and removed the compression straps.

Mel I dig it and will be getting one. Long time no see/talk btw. You came out to my house to show off the Kifaru line while I was on Ft. Ord back in the day. That left a hell of an impression and I’ve been happy to wear Kifaru packs since then.

The cordage and snaps make it look like a special bag. Honestly though, any pack could be a good EDC if it’s durable, weight-bearing, and looks like a civilian would carry. It may even better to not be brown/green/black so as to not look important.

  9. Mel Terkla says:

Guys, the only feature we think still might have a “military” look is the large Velcro patch on top, and that will not be on the production models to further enhance the urban look.

  10. DontMindMe says:

There’s too many buckles and straps to look “urban”. There’s 2-4 webbing tabs along every seam!

Get a jansport and put BFG dappers in it if you really want to be discreet.

Kinda looks like the Eagle Industries Ranger Aid Bag that is damn near impossible to find.
