This week’s FirstSpear Friday Focus concentrates on the Ragnar. Named after Viking warrior Ragnarr Loðbrók, this armor vest is an adaptable system that can be quickly configured for the mission at hand.

In addition to different cummerbunds, the Ragnar offers special pockets like the stretch models seen here. FirstSpear also offers specific soft armor packages as well as plates.

Anybody could explain the differences between this Ragnar and the sleeper? Obviously I get the additional cummerbunds option, but I’m under the impression that they could fit both vests. What am I missing?

Can someone inform me as to what the 4 horizontal slits are for on the front? My Sleeper also shares this feature, and I am curious about their intended use.

      cable management and routing

Those slots are also access points for the attachment points for chest-rigs. Look at the photo of the Multicam carrier and you can see the tabs peeking out. The profile of the Ragnar panels are what most would call a concealment cut.

Funny how Velcro returns as a mounting system. Reminds me on some of the older Modular Vests. Like it.
