The MOE TSP (Trapezoidal Surface Projections) 1911 Grip Panels are an evolution of the original MOE 1911 Grip Panels. Constructed of reinforced polymer, the grips feature a unique diamond-shaped cross-section which prevents twisting in the hand. Also featured on the MOE TSP Grip Panels is an aggressive magazine release cut-out, aggressive TSP texture for positive control, and compatibility with ambidextrous safeties. The grips are designed to fit full sized framed 1911s with standard grip screw bushings.

Dear Magpul,
Where are the mid length MOE SL hand guards?
Thanks,
The internet.
i have their older 1911 grips and they seem to work pretty well but i may have to try these
Real innovation right there… Keep up the good work Magpul!
There’s probably a hundred good reasons (50 NJPs, 50 GOMARs) not to do M9 grips…
The only important question is will these be available in magpul pink ? 😀
@Hooper – It is our opinion that if pink furniture is what it takes to get your significant other or daughter to the range then it is worth the effort to produce them in the MOE line up.
@J.H.S -I know you are being sarcastic but in addition to many larger and more obvious innovation items being released this year the grips themselves have innovation in the design that is not apparent until you use them.
1. If you take a horizontal cross section of the grip you will see they are not a round curve like traditional grips. They start off on the edges as slim line grips meeting at the grip screw bushings at the standard height. When installed on the pistol this forms the “diamond-shaped cross-section” that prevents twisting in the hand.
2. The thumb cut out for the magazine release is also unique in its size and shape. While most standard small cuts outs make it easier to release the magazine on the 1911, the large cut out allows the majority of shooters with medium hands to release the magazine without readjusting their grip. The cutout also is shaped and contoured to allow comfortable left handed operation of the pistol.
3. The TSP (Trapezoidal Surface Projections) texture is Magpul’s 3rd generation of this new texture that grips exceeding well under all conditions while being robust enough to abrasive field use. Other pistols like the Glock Gen4 use a similar system but their surface projections are small squares arranged in a uniform pattern.
The TSP3 texture used on the 1911 grips are randomly arranged rectangles that have a specific profile maximize grip when pressure is applied along with a non tacky/sticky release. To get a repeatable pattern that looked non uniform to the naked eye required the hand placement of over 200 rectangles at random angles and several test molds before this design was settled on.
