Sneak Peek – New Bipod from KAC

IMG_9778.JPG

I spent yesterday on the range at Spartan Tactical with Leupold and Knight’s Armament. KAC had a few new items on hand, one of which is this cool bipod.

Developed for a user requirement stemming from reliability of existing bipods, this new model from KAC incorporates adjustments for cant and pan as well as independent leg extension and position. In addition to the standard 0/45/90 degree leg positions, Knight’s has also incorporated a total of 6 positions including intermediate between the 45 and 90 deg which is ideal for loading the bipod in varying terrain.

The feet offer a wide, aggressive base and incorporate quite pointy teeth.

Make sure you stop by Knight’s booth at SHOT Show where it will be formally launched.

Maybe the pointy end can be used as an emergency bayone .

  2. Jeff S says:

Any word on MSRP? I’m thinking $350+?

    • SSD says:

The guys there weren’t even sure.

      • KevinB says:

We have pricing on the bipod as part of our CSASS submission.

We are currently working up production levels outside of government sales and with that costing/pricing levels, and will release at SHOT.

  3. NK says:

Looks solid, but it might have the same “issue” as Atlas bipods – they can’t be quickly deployed.

    • That Blue Falcon says:

Looks like the same deployment method at first glance as a 249 improved bipod, in which case it should deploy very easily.

  4. Fly on the Wall says:

    Coupla three questions:

    What is the attachment mechanism?

Is that throw lever a pivot lock or does it secure the bipod to a M1913 rail?

Is the left side knob a tension adjuster?

  5. Markm says:

What will the absurd KAC price be? Are we still paying for C nite reed 3’s car collections?

  6. CRH says:

Looks like a solid piece of kit hopefully that they won’t cost 469.99.

  7. Eric says:

It does look very solid, and KAC has added a nice feature in being able to adjust the cant. What is the approximate weight? (meaning does it feel heavy on the rifle? I know most KAC gear looks as sturdy as an anchor, but weighs very little)

  8. Darth says:

Looks like another unattainable piece of KAC equipment. Like the offset BUIS I’ve tried keeping an eye open for

  9. Kasey says:

I would have thought the novelty and innovation demonstrated in this bipod which is found on the Atlas would have been covered by patents….

Surely KAC would check that out before going forward.

Maybe they will have them made in China to complete the circle?

    Sheesh.
