Tac-Up BV is a company based in the Netherlands formed by ex-SOF and SWAT personnel. They’ve developed the Tacical Chainsaw, a powerful and versatile breaching tool which can cut through a wide range of materials including armored glass, steel, stone, and more. The Tactical Chainsaw uses a special chain with a Wolfram carbide hard metal coating, and the blade can be adjusted with an included depth limiter. Also included with the Tactical Chainsaw is a tactical light, heavy duty protection plate, and a non-reflecting “urban grey” coating. Check out the video below to see the Tactical Chainsaw in action.
Tac-Up BV will be visiting SHOT Show this year, so stay tuned for further coverage of the Tactical Chainsaw from the show floor.

”Urban Grey” isn’t going to make much of a difference when they hear the thing running, nice of them to cover the sound with music so you can’t hear anything
Need one for the impending zombie apocalypse.
I don’t think anyone was trying to suggest that this chainsaw operates in “stealth mode” because it comes in a subdued color.
However the color would be helpful if you are trying to approach a target without being detected prematurely.
As mentioned in the post this item is meant for the military / SWAT user.
And therefore would most likely be employed by one member of a team while others provide security.

Ever try to buck a large maple or hickory tree? You guys argue over the color. Just give me that carbide coated chain. I figure one of those is worth a half dozen for the Stihl.
I agree. I could use a chain like that for my Stihl.
However, I suspect the price of the chain alone equals 10 new chainsaws.
So I probably won’t be getting one for here on the farm.
It’d be nice though.

I dig it. Ever have to hump around a quick cut saw? Not all that fun, especially with rest of the breaching kit. If this thing saves 5 pounds over the quick- cut , definitely worth it.
If you are looking for a lightweight cut saw option check this out: http://www.broco-rankin.com/tactical/forced-entry/broco-mini-breaching-saw-kit/
This saw is fast to operate due to the 36v lithium battery but you will give up depth of cut that a gas saw will provide.
Ahhhh good ol Broco. Had their exo-torch as well; not great to hump, but there wasn’t anything it wouldn’t cut through.
Unfortunately my “cool kid stuff” days have passed, but that link you provided woulda been great if it was around!
I dig the depth limiter.

What, no zombie testing. If it can’t do zombies, I don’t want it!
That’s the manliest thing I’ve seen all day. I have absolutely no practical use for this, but I want one.
