You might notice something else about this rifle. It’s equipped with the brand new Trijicon AccuPoint 1-6×24.

New daniel defense rifle , meh. New accupoint , tell us more !!!!!
I was thinking the same thing.
No love for Daniel Defense?
If you ain’t building you’re own AR’s yet I don’t know what to tell you, and the only thing Daniel defense ever made that was worth a crap is the RIS II , and that’s not that big of a deal either.
I am building my own AR, thanks!
I also built my computer, and rebuilt my trucks engine. With all that said, I don’t fault people who don’t build theirs, nor do I look down my nose at them. I tend to leave that to judgemental dicks.
Everything I had read prior to this had said that DD made some generally nice rifles, so I was just wondering if I had been misinformed.
People whose time has value have choices.
I don’t fault people who prefer an anxiety-free shooting experience with a reputable gun over a drawer full of tools that ain’t cheap and can’t also be used to keep a house in good repair.
I’d also give some props to DD’s Omega Rail, which allowed my PEQ-2 to a far more useful tool than it was when my unit’s carbines had RIS’s on them.
A torque wrench, a punch pin, and a mallet .
I’m not building my own AR and I’m not setting my own broken bones. I know my limitations and skill areas, and gunsmithing is very definitely not one of them. It may be “simple” but when my life depends on it, I’m leaving it to the pros.
I can’t count the times I’ve gone to qualify somebody who hand-built their own AR and they invariably wind up finishing with my loaner Mini-14
Please tell us more! You must be an SME to make such statements.
It’s a 7075 upper, a 7075 lower, and a barrel nut torqued to 40-70 pounds. You’re not building a space ship.
This is a surprisingly smooth looking rifle. What kind of trigger and hammer pins are those?
Seriously?
Yes. Seriously. I like the concave heads of the pins. I’m guessing you find this absurd?
The article clearly states “Geissele SD3G trigger”. That would include the pins as well.
Geiselle pins, dog.
