First Tactical – Tactix Pants

First Tactical has begun to roundout their lineup with the release of the Tactix-series of pants. They offer a little different look than what’s currently out there and come in Tactical, EMS and BDU styles for both men and women. Below is the Men’s Tactical model.

Tactix Pants

The Tactical model is offered in Black, Khaki and Midnight Navy in waist sizes from 28-44, lengths 30-36, while the EMS pant is only in Midnight Navy and the BDU adds OD Green but no Khaki. The BDU pant has additional sizing.

    Boring… ZZZZZZZZZ

  2. Goose says:

I have seen the new First Tactical pants, they are technically innovative and very good quality, a potential brand leader.

    • TacticalNuts says:

jeez you don’t sound like one of the ex-cops they are recruiting or anything like that.

I can’t figure out if this is a thinly veiled 5.11 side project, or a slap in their face…

If this is a 5.11 side project (which I have strong suspicions is true), I’d be pissed if I was a dealer of theirs.

Either way, I’m offended by the “we’ve those greedy retailers out of the equation” premise of their model. Really? Those greedy retailers that place large orders and invest in your brand?

    Yea, eff those guys.

  4. Goose says:

I understand First Tactical to be a completely new entity. A brand new company, can anyone confirm?

  5. Where do you go and try the pants on for fit? Where can you go to pick up this gear and hold it in my hand? Long live the Cop Shop !

    • TacticalNuts says:

They are internet only. They are cutting out dealers to screw the local uniform stores and make a higher profit margin.

      • jim d says:

Yep, the same ones the CEO of the company built 5.11 up with by having his product on the shelves everywhere, forcing huge dealer buy-in’s, etc.

  6. That Guy says:

Entirely a random coincidence that their HQ is about 500 feet from 5.11’s in Modesto?

  7. Lasse says:

Interesting to see that people in this industry also likes their local shops. On the other hand, what % of gear is bought online? I’m guessing 50%+, but I suspect that it might be even higher.

So what’s wrong with being a vertical company (ie no middle men)? Nothing. Honestly, those $100 whatever pants can be $75 from a vertical one (for the exact same product). However, a very very very very rich Canadian guy told me recently that you also need actual stores instead of being just an online company. Downside of this is that opening your own stores requires even more money..

It’s a real two edge sword when you are trying to be a vertical company catering to communities that care about their local shops.

  8. Scott V says:

Running gussets are one thing, relaxed fit cut is another. Hope the pants fit people who do squats.

  9. Bill says:

It’s the revenge of Royal Robbins for having his pants turned into a Walmart-like operation.

My newest drinking game is to take a shot every time the word “crotch” appears in an ad or article. My liver’s useless.

  10. Somaro says:

A mix between the Stryke tactical pant with all terrible features and the new Stryke police class-b uniform pant with simple design.

A terrible simple tactical tacticool pant. #headmeetstable

Btw, the pant is in the First Tactical shop cheaper then somewhere else:
    ” Comparable Price: $69.99 – Our Price: $64.99″
