Ugh. I love Colt, but I hate being called a “consumer”. I imagine an overweight person who consumes or uses and discards everything in their life. I would prefer to be called a “Citizen” or even though it doesn’t denote unlimited franchise, “Civilian” would be fine with me, too. But Consumer? It’s a buzzword that has perpetuated the buy more society that we’ve fallen into.

    Rant Over.

I really like colt and as an owner of their products, I’m satisfied. That word just struck a chord with me.

  2. Elle says:

I concur with David, being pegged as a consumer shows a certain disrespect and disdain on Colts part for Citizens. Not buying Colt until the poor attitude changes.

  3. Travis says:

I agree with the term for all those reasons.

  4. I see what you mean but... says:

    Citizens? Seriously?

How about civilians? Or maybe Sporting? Maybe either of those two might not upset your delicate sensibilities.

EDITOR’s NOTE – That was uncalled for

  5. Juan Bravo says:

instead of updating their website, maybe they should fix (i.e. un-f$@*) complete customer service/ordering system. When the sales guy says ‘2 weeks lead time’ he really means 6 weeks! (for an off the shelf standrad AR-15) unfreakin believable…..and that was their response even for a personal ‘family’ referral.

  6. Steven says:

I think, anyone who so much as buys a Colt AR15 should be called an “AR15 OPERATOR” so…..change the site immediately or a suit will follow….people VS colt

  7. FormerSFMedic says:

I don’t usually give a vermin hind quarters about the little stuff, but I do agree with others that “consumer” is a little disrespectful. Consumer is a word used in business terminology to describe the individuals your going to make money off of. That being said, I kinda feel like Colt looks at us as if we’re money, rather than customers. They could have been a little more tactful.

  8. I’ve been browsing online more than three hours lately, yet I never found any fascinating article like yours. It’s lovely worth sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the internet will probably be a lot more helpful than ever before.
