Is that their weaponlight? Tell me it doesn’t look like a Surefire. I’m not hating though, if it works, it works. I’m excited to see the new stuff from Gerber. I’ve been a supporter for a long time. These guys seem to work pretty hard to get new items to the market. Everytime I turn around there is a new Gerber product. I just wanna know how I can get ahold of that skeletonized knife and sheath at the top? Would love to go out and test that thing in the woods along with that weaponlight.

As a former Gerber fan, it is nice to see them continue to innovate.

The injection molded sheath has been around since the Glock bayonet, and considering I used one in ’83 at the Infantry School, it’s especially gratifying to see it – because it’s NOT Kydex. The “real estate” shortage for hanging needed stuff on the LBV and carriers was worse back in the day of the suspenders and pistol belt. The belt was already overloaded, and very little else could go higher. Folded Kydex sheaths were quickly found to take up too much room – hence the sudden turnover to quality folders like the Endura.

Glock was the best thing to happen to sheath design, too many still try to use custom HSLD range equipment without understanding that a soldier has some practical realities to deal with on a daily basis.
