headlamp for the majority of use. but a good hand held that is on your weapon that you can take on and off has come in handy a couple of times.
Headlamp
Hand held. But I like head too
I carry a hand held light daily but each light has its own job.
Its already been said but headlamp when both hands are needed, weaponlight for going into buildings and such.
Head Lamp, leaves my hands free to eat fried chicken..
I prefer my surefire E2D for just about every application.
Headlamp for general, all-purpose hands-free use. Hand held for more lumens. Sidenote, my wife steals my headlamp almost daily for a booklight. She says it’s the best booklight she’s ever had. Too bad I can never find it.
Headlamp for hands-free use, hand held for more lumens. Too bad my wife “borrows” my headlamp for a booklight. I can never find it.
sorry for double post. stupid computer
I’ve found the headlamp to be the most versatile type of light I own, and it tends to be my go to when I need a flashlight for just about any task.
If I could only have one, it would be a handheld, as they are a little more versatile than a weapon light and headlamp. That said, I keep one of each in my kit, as they all have specific and important roles to play.
My hand helds get the most use.
Carry the handheld for backup, weaponlight as needed and the headlamp is great for explosive breachers priming a charge in the dark, not mention the headlamp is great for finding items in your gear bag/ trunk at night.
my battle bro is CHUCK NORRIS, when he enters the room everything evil is automatically illuminated and he destroys it with his glaring stare, so no need for any commercial lighting devices. (Although Wep lights keep u hands free)
It depends on the job at hand. If I’m working out of a truck or on the gun line at night a headlamp and red filter is key. If I’m wearing civvies I will carry a handheld in my chest pocket in case I need some light. If its my rifle I mount a bright light one one side and a inforce wml set to ir on the other. Best to have the right tool for the job.
Depending on the current task really. In general I prefer using my headlamp. I utilize it for everything from camping to jogging.
my favorite is a headlamp for hands free work. I also use it for tracking by attaching it to the bottom of a 4ft. stick, makes it easy on your back.
I have a weapon light on any weapon used for defense and I carry a Surefire 6p which gets used at work all the time. I’ve never owned a headlamp, but now that I think about it, it would be exceedingly useful in my line of work – I often need a light and both hands to pull/terminate cable…
I use a head lamp 99% of the time. Got a petzl around my helmet. The water resistant one kinda makes it l
It look like a unicorn horn though. Can’t beat it when I’m writing out a report or working on a map. It really is handy when I’m on the RAB and I have to climb into the comm compartment or reset a breaker that the MK44 popped.
Helmet light or weapon, depends on the mission at hand
I would prefer the Headlamp.
I use headlamps when my hands are full, and a an old Surefire executive when I have a free hand.
3 D-cell Maglight. Slightly less conspicuous than a tire iron.
I really prefer a tactical handheld over a headlight. I always run with a Surefire LX2.
Headlamp. Keeps hands free for action and is always headed where yours sight is.
I prefer headlamp when moving, but handheld when I’m stationary and looking for something–such as when hunting.
Headlamps are always good for general purpose stuff. Handheld for most other tasks and I usually prefer a surefire. Weapon lights are great for room clearing and which one depends on the weapon but these days their are a lot of great ones.
Definitely headlamp
Use to think headlamps were geeky but now I use them all the time
Headlamp for camping hiking, handheld for home use and defense.
I prefer handheld lights with some sort of clip on them. I feel its the best of all options. A light to find stuff in the truck real quick, I can clip it on my hat if I need to be hands on, and I can use one of the dozens of light mounts on the market and use it with a carbine.
Handheld and weapon light. If hunting, camping, mountian biking, etc I will also bring along a headlamp.
Headlamp for car repairs, walking the dogs, when the lights go out.
Eric
Headlamps for camping, and hunting, as it keeps my hands free for chores. A specific need for other types of lights are always a consideration, but for tasks around camp a headlamp prevails.
Surefire.
Headlamps for their overall functionality.
Headlamps have the greatest overall versatility, enabling hands-free usage for a wide variety of situations, – I keep one on all my hard-hats and helmets – but hand-held lights have a niche which is not covered well by headlamps – illuminating odd angles or away from one’s head, earning one a permanent place in my pocket. Weapon lights, of course are an absolute requirement for any weapon which requires two hands to operate.
It would be the headlamp to use while hunting in Maine!
I prefer a headlamps for most tasks, handheld for EDC and a weaponlight for every weapon.
I prefer a headlamp when camping and fishing as it makes things do much easier to be hands free.
Headamps for their easy handsfree use, especially during admin functions. But as already stated, handhelds and weapon lights are a necessity in many tactical situations.
I use a headlamp frequently it comes in handy at work and in everyday life. I keep one in the car.
Head lamp or weapon light both very helpful
Headlamps
Headlamp for when I’m doing hands on, but I always have at least 1 hand held light with me.
I perfer weaponlights, but headlamps are always a saviour when you have them. I must say if I was on the go you’d find me with both!
I have weaponlight and handhelds. I dont have a headlamp and would sure like one. 😉
I prefer a weapon mounted light! Happy New Year!
I carry a Surefire handheld light everyday and it is my go to light but I also a have a couple headlamps that I use regularly. HeAdlamps are preferred when I am camping or hiking working around the house or doing anything that requires two hands. I also have a weapon light on my pistol.
