  1. Adrian says:

Top Loader, there is a lost art to packing!

  2. Max says:

A panel loader is my preference.

  3. Marmatt says:

Panel load for EDC and daypacks for organization. Top load for multiday efficiency.

  4. Jeremiah says:

Panel is easier for access, but top loader is for me a little more failsafe as far as possible zipper breakage or damage. I think top just squeaks ahead of panel for me.

  5. Dan says:

    Top loader keeps it simple.

  6. Randy says:

    Panel loader

  7. Steven J says:

    Top, quick access.

  8. Josh says:

    Top loader all day long

  9. Chuck Sadler says:

I would prefer a Top Loader

  10. Robert L says:

    Top Loader

  11. eomfd says:

    Panel Loader all the way.

  12. James says:

    Top loader, of course.

  13. Jays says:

    I prefer a top loader

  14. Frank says:

Panel loader for easier access to my gear.

  15. Sean says:

    Top Loader.

  16. Anthony Aquilino says:

    Top loader

  17. Zach says:

I prefer a top loader. Real nice!

  18. H says:

Top loader, quicker to get into and less likely to have the contents fall out if the zipper fails.

  19. Garry says:

Top loader. less stress on overstuffed zippers.

  20. Lasse says:

I prefer a panel loader, since I am able to neatly organize everything I pack, and when I need just 1 item, I can grab that without messing up everything else. Panel loaders also allow you to properly place items where you want them according to their weight, which often is a problem with a top loader since I often pack them according to what I might need first, resulting in a poorly packed backpack.

  21. Juan Bravo says:

Depends on the equipment/mission, both have their As and Ds. TT Removable Operator pack is perfectly sized, I use it a lot. If using TL style, must be able to insert/remove large items, and the zippers should not runout, or open up UN-intentionally.

  22. Sam Gilmer says:

I enjoy a panel loader for everyday use as it allows me to access everything quickly and load back up quickly. For hikes and other heavy long-term uses I enjoy using top-loaders as they allow me to compress everything that I’m hauling more efficiently.

  23. Andrew says:

My answer is : It depends. Dependign on what I am doing both have advantages. Nothing beats a top laoder for quickly stuffing things away if you have to bug out but the convenience of being able to access everything at once can be pretty key depending on the task. That being said if I had to choose I’d say panel loader…

  24. Min says:

I actually prefer a top load for hiking/trekking/hunting, and a panel loader for a BoB/tactical pack.

  25. Jamie says:

Top loading, just reach in to the bottom and feel around for what you’re looking for.

  26. lolz says:

For medics panel, combat top (just need to know how to pack your gear gents).

  27. Paul Weaver says:

While both have their place, I prefer panel loaders – if you want the features of a top loader, simply stage the zippers at the top of the pack.

  28. Fidel says:

Panel loader for day to day, non-outdoors activities. If you play a lot outdoors, have both. It’s less preference and more a case of the right tool for the job.

  29. Craig says:

    Panel loader

  30. Giff says:

Much prefer a panel loader for a s
    mall pack.

  31. Joshua says:

Top loader, only because I don’t think I’ve ever tried a panel loader…

  32. Sean says:

    Panel loader for most applications

  33. J-D says:

    Top Loader

  34. Dalton says:

    Top Loader

  35. john says:

    Top loader,.less work more streamline

  36. steve says:

top loader -thanks for the 12 Days and Merry Christmas

  37. Sal Palma says:

Panel loader for me – easier to work with and certainly more flexible.

  38. Clay Richardson says:

    Top loader!

  39. Ben says:

Panel Loader, easier to get it packed just right.

  40. Jason Dillard says:

Panel loader but I use both.

  41. Brian mcquade says:

    Panel loader

  42. tom webster says:

    top loader – less aippers!

  43. Adam says:

Panel loader, easier to pack and unpack.

  44. Nate Ornelas says:

    I prefer a panel loader

  45. Doc Todd says:

Most of my packs are top loaders but they both have their benefits. That said, I usually grab a top loader…probably more out of habit than anything.

  46. Eric H says:

Since most of my packs are top loaders, I’ll go with panel loader for a little diversity.

  47. Top loader because zippers fail when you need them the most!

  48. Steve says:

Panel is easier to load and organize. Top loading can work well depending upon how large and long the pack is. I prefer panel for the ease of opening and loading.

  49. steveg says:

    Always a panel loader
